Trade Romo While We can

Shannon Sharpe wasnt even a 1st ballot HOFer... Its really hard to get enshrined as a TE I think there are maybe only 7 in and with the standard Tony Gonzalez set it will be very hard for Jason Witten and Antonio Gates to get in.

I like the idea of using Romo to trade up (like we did to get Claiborne).

But only if we are getting a BIG TIME QB in the draft..

Still get a first round pick and maybe even a second. With our schedule we have an excellent chance of missing the playoffs. Romo is getting old and our O-line needs improvement.

We would basically be giving up on the season but would gain a first rounder for an undrafted player. The NFL has some very strong teams this year and the odds of the Cowboys winning 8 games seems unrealistic. Jerry needs to pull the trigger before the trade deadline.

I find it hard to take this suggestion seriously. The current squad may be good enough to sneak into the playoffs this year and may be even better next year. Romo will continue to be very good for at least several more years. Let it play out some more before throwing in the towel.

No. Also thought this said, 'Trade Romo White We can'.

Romo sucks but we can get a first and a second for him? God I wish I could avoid these asinine threads, but they're like a car wreck.

no trades will happen this year. I'd bet my house that Jerry isn't even considering trading Romo. Ware is also a cowboy for at least another 3 seasons. If any trades get done this season we will be the ones giving up draft picks. Either that, or we somehow get rid of Felix and get a late round pick back. other than that, there are no realistic trade ideas that i can think of.

This guy anyone?

you think this team sucks now?, go ahead get rid if your starting QB, good luck with that.. Who let me know how that turned out. get back to us in a few years

He's a Hall of Famer. He'll get in 1st ballot.

Deserving? Yes, 110%. Will he get in? Possilbly. Fist round? Not a chance, he's a tight end.

So is 5-11 really any worse than 8-8? Either way, your sitting at home during the playoffs. Go ahead and make the deal(s) to get us to 12-4, 13-3 in the next few years, and then be positioned to stay there for a long run!

When is the last time they did a trade of any significant player with tread left on his tires?

The only two that come to mind are Anthony Fasano and Herschal Walker--->& b4 someone derails this thread arguing about the type of player Fasano was, don't because that's not the point, the point is that he's the highest drafted player I can think of we've traded (pick #53 2006)

This team doesn't seem to value trading players with tread left on their tires for picks or they don't have the confidence in their replacements or in their ability to replace those players.

It seems the team holds onto its core for dear life (ie until the player is completely used up) and its seemed that way since 1994.

How often to you see ANY team getting rid, by way of trade, of their best player(s) in order to "regroup?"

New England seems to have a knack for salvaging picks out of players that are pretty good and it wouldn't surprise me at all if a day came when they traded Brady to some team for some high draft picks

Its out of the box thinking that most teams don't have the courage to do for numerous reasons

see as usual people dont get it.. We ARE NOT 8-8 because of our QB.. We NEVER address the weakness on this team.. So you get another QB ( where by the way, please tell me where ) and it changes what exactly? NOTHING will change, its NOT the QB... THis team is so brokemn and has been for 20 years and Jerry has no clue at all how to fix it

sometimes you just have to move on. I don't think many cowboy fans believe Romo is the main issue but a change of course can be good for all involved.. I just don't think we will get rid of Romo thru trade.

you dont move on from your franchise QB in his prime EVER he is NOT the problem people

How long is that prime going to last? His contract is up after next season? You want to sign him for the next five years? That's likely what it's going to take. Romo isn't 25.
