McCarthy helped Rodgers develop so he has a decent track record. IMO Dak simply isn't talented enough to get better. He has already reached his ceiling. Lance can become a top 5 QB and we could give him one year to develop next season behind Dak. Rodgers sat for 3 years behind Favre.

No imo. Lance hasn’t shown he is the guy. If Kyle can’t get him to produce, it doesn’t bold well. Now , if they would take dak and his salary im on board.

Not against the general idea of bringing in a high potential Quarterback who can sit and develop for a season, however, I'm not a huge Lance fan. That's a huge gamble for a team that seems to be putting a lot of their chips in the pot for 2023.

If you believe Lance will be a top 5 QB, why would SF spend 3 1’s on him and then give up on him right after?
Because he's coming off a season ending injury. The jury is still out on him. It's a projection based on how much value was projected on him in that draft. The 49ers subsequently unearthed a QB on a rookie contract that helped the team win a lot of regular season games plus a play off game.

It would be a gamble from both teams but might the 49ers cut their losses, focus on Purdy and give themselves another first rounder whilst the Cowboys appreciate Prescott will never be good enough to get them over the hump and make a move with a view to moving on from Prescott in 2024.

Unless this is actually being discussed by the two teams I don't care.

Purdy has a worse injury, and Lance is still the future of the position for them. When you spend that much on a QB you need to be certain he is unable to become that guy. They didn’t trade all the picks solely for his rookie season statline

I don't think Purdy is the answer myself but I'm not the GM of the 49ers. If Lance doesn't achieve much next season on a loaded roster then most other teams will view him as a bust and wouldn't offer a first at that point.

Lance has been terrible up to this point. And has shown no signs of getting better.

In essence, you're saying we should trade for Paxton Lynch.

He is? Man, you must not have watched Purdy. That kid simply has it. It's just so obvious.

Lance is nothing more than an athlete playing QB. He has had bust written all over him from the start. It's stupid to take these Nowhere State QBs high in the draft. Not one of the athletes playing QB from a small school has worked out, not one.

Know what the biggest knock on Lance was? Very slow processing speed. In English, he can't read a D. Which is typical of this type QB.
