Hey Zoners,

So, here's a trade that I've been kicking around with my good buddy @Muhast.

The draft goes as follows:

  1. LA: Goff, Jared QB
  2. CLE: Wentz, Carson QB
  3. SD: Ramsey, Jalen DB
  4. DAL: Trades Down as follows...
  • TEN Gets: #4 (VAL at 1800)
  • DAL Gets: #15, #43, #45 (VAL at 1970)
In this scenario, the trade value matches up almost evenly, and we know that trading up always comes at a moderate premium. Tennessee is then able to select their original pick, Laremy Tunsil, while still coming away with the Rams' 1st and 3rd future picks and still picking at the top of the 2nd round.

Who do you think is available at #15, and who do you select? Who do you further then select at numbers 34, 43, and 45 if everything falls "perfectly" for you?

Let's Play!

casmith07:
  • #15: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
  • #34: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
  • #43: Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia
  • #45: Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama

I like the for accusations picks.
And if you gave me that draft...I'd take it!!

But all the way down to 15 may drop them out the running for players a couple of tiers better on their board.
If they want chance at better players (maybe Lawson? Or if they like lynxh and he's going earlier) they could use a 3rd (or even 2nd) or so move back into a better group of players

But yeah, we've mentioned this exact trade a few times and I like it. I'm not just our 1st works, but I'll play along. In truth, trading up for a non QB usually means you pay less than value, not more.

Lynch is not going to last till 15,heck somebody might jump Sf to get him.
havent heard SF likes him.

But I do think Dallas, in this scenario , might have to move back up some from 15 to get a better player

I agree. I thought he would go a lot earlier before the Rams trade, now I think he is a guaranteed top 10 pick. It would not surprise me to see all 3 QBs off the board in the top 5.

If we really want Lynch, you have no choice at all but to take him at 4.

I'd be real tempted to move back up with 15 and one of the twos if Zeke is on the board at 8 or so.

Like it but do not want Henry. Take Dixon instead

TENN has so many picks they won't take a 170 point loss just because.

You would more likely get 15, 33, 76

More likely to get a #2 & #3 but IF it worked out that way...

#15- Shaq Lawson
#34- Robert Nkemdiche
#43- Karl Joseph
#45- Kenneth Dixon

Look for Prescott in the third

First, if Tunsil is at #4, we draft and keep him. Best player in the draft in a premium position.

If Lynch is really our guy, we should not drop below #7. The only trade partner I would consider is to Ravens. We might be able to squeeze a #3 out of them.

I like the trade idea, just need it to be more one sided in our favor.
Tenn. is trading back into the top of the draft ("the franchise player's zone") for a premium position, QB-LT-DE.

Tenn. gets #4
Dal. gets #15, #33, #43 or #45

or

Tenn. gets #4
Dal. gets #15 and any one of their 2nd rounders this year and a 1st next year

We draft (using 1st scenario):
#15 - Lawson DE
#33 - Jackson CB
#34 - Rankins DT (our original pick)
#43 or #45 - Cash S

Getting out of the 1st 2 rounds with this haul would fill a lot of our holes. ;)

Kelley like him when he was coaching the Egirls. Kaep is supposedly still going to Denver. Doubt Gaebbert is his guy.

Like it past the first round. Just don't see Lynch getting that far etc. Might have to be BPA/DL tbh. Love the Joseph pick especially.

I would take a WR like Boyd at 45, but if we left the first two rounds with that haul I would be ecstatic.

I really like Dodd A lot. I think he would be a very solid rotational player at worst but I'm afraid he goes round one. At one time I held out hope that he would make it to 34 but now I don't see it happening.
