I really like Dodd A lot. I think he would be a very solid rotational player at worst but I'm afraid he goes round one. At one time I held out hope that he would make it to 34 but now I don't see it happening.

I hope he does, I think he fits perfectly as a LDE with DLaw moving to RDE. Especially when he can rotate with whoever emerges out of the group David Irving, Ryan Russell and Jack Crawford.

I don't know that he falls to 34, I hope so. Ogbah would be my fallback choice if Dodd is off the board.

Lynch is not going to last till 15,heck somebody might jump Sf to get him.

I have seen a lot of mocks that have him falling to the Broncos at 31. Teams don't really like him, and if he gets out of the top 10, there aren't a whole lot of teams with a need of QBs until said Broncos.

From my spreadsheet, here is who I would grab (players within a few spots of this position):

#15: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis (Rated #16)
#34: Chris Jones, DT, Mississippi St
#43: Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame
#45: Kenneth Dixon, RB, Louisiana Tech

realistically who I think might be there, and who I would want, now that we have heard more from the teams:

#15: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson
#34: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
#43: Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame
#45: Connor Cook, QB, Michigan St

I would be quite happy with this return (hypothetical though it may be)

If you want to check out my spreadsheet, you can find it on one of these links (you would have to sign up for those sites, but they are free sites)

Guaranteed he is going top 10,no doubt in my mind .

Pretty much every professional mock draft begs to differ. It's possible someone really reaches for him, it happens a lot, but I could easily see him having a Johny Football type slide, he was supposed to go in the top 10 as well

The Rams changed everything, there are a lot of teams which need a QB and they are not going to sit back and wait for Lynch,Heck we have a Tony Romo and we are wining and dining Jared Goff.

The past couple of years there have been a decline in teams reaching for QBs. Last year only 2 QBs went in the first two rounds. 2014 saw the second QB go at 22, the third at 32. 2013 didn't see a single QB in the top 15 picks. QBs seem to either go really early if they are good, or mid-late first or even second round if they aren't so good. Beyond that, teams either seem to trade into the top 5, or to wait (look at the Browns unwillingness to trade with us for Manziel) since they know that waiting will work. For whatever reason teams seem to not love Lynch, especially teams in the top 10 (who are not us) it's possible that a team trades up to grab him, but recent history suggests to me that it's unlikely.

Hey Zoners,

So, here's a trade that I've been kicking around with my good buddy @Muhast.

The draft goes as follows:

  1. LA: Goff, Jared QB
  2. CLE: Wentz, Carson QB
  3. SD: Ramsey, Jalen DB
  4. DAL: Trades Down as follows...
  • TEN Gets: #4 (VAL at 1800)
  • DAL Gets: #15, #43, #45 (VAL at 1970)
In this scenario, the trade value matches up almost evenly, and we know that trading up always comes at a moderate premium. Tennessee is then able to select their original pick, Laremy Tunsil, while still coming away with the Rams' 1st and 3rd future picks and still picking at the top of the 2nd round.

Who do you think is available at #15, and who do you select? Who do you further then select at numbers 34, 43, and 45 if everything falls "perfectly" for you?

Let's Play!

casmith07:
  • #15: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
  • #34: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
  • #43: Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia
  • #45: Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama

Out of these 4, I pick Lynch.
