Trade some pass rushers for WR and TE talent?

We have too many pass rushers... As evidenced by the sack totals. We are legit 6-7 deep at the EDGE spot all of which get consistent pressure.

What we don't have is WRs and TEs who can both block and be dynamic in the passing game and catch consistently and get open. Dak struggles on 3rd downs because his WRs and TEs not named Lamb have a hard time getting open and separating.

Good idea or no? Maybe we can deal Sam Williams on his potential, Tank and his contract, idk what contract Fowler will take to re-sign... Basham is expendable, and Armstrong's contract is fairly inexpensive for production so maybe we can package him up as well. Parsons?? I think he's an elite talent and would fetch at least 2 premium first rounders or better, and maybe a top end WR or TE as well.

Thoughts??

Uh no. Pass rushers are more valuable than WRs and TEs. If you trade one, you want draft picks not a player.
I think Parsons could fetch 2 first round picks, a second AND a good young player on a rookie contract (WR/TE). Plus we wouldn't have to sign Parsons to the mega top dollar contract he's going to want after which he will get lazy and underperform.

I like the idea of trading Micah.
Get a lot of talent in exchange and not have to pay him.

I think Pittsburgh would be a great place for Parsons. Across from TJ Watt would fit perfectly and they're not going to be in the playoffs with a developing QB for awhile in that loaded division, so we could get a very nice haul for him and as a bonus Parsons gets to move back to his home state.

Let me take a wild guess. Micah and a 1st, for Wentz?
Wentz is Heinecke's backup these days. I don't think Wentz fetches more than a 4th honestly, contract or no contract. He's a backup quarterback in the NFL and he's proven time and again he's unclutch and a poor locker room leader.

The purpose of acquiring draft picks is to get generational talent and, if not generational, good players.
If you have a generational player (who comes around every once in a life time), why would you give up picks for the low probability of finding another in the draft?

Pay Micah what he's worthy and be done with it.

:muttley: :laugh:Quinn likes to rotate his players and for good reason. Keeps the fresh. Why trade away players they’ve worked so hard to obtain? And if OBJ is signed they’re set at WR.

Thats crazy. You build the defense around Parsons and Sam Williams. I would trade Dorrance. If he gets to 10+ sacks (already has 7), he could fetch a nice bounty in the trade market. The fact he has a year left at 4M makes him that much more attractive to other teams bc they can test drive him before committing to a big contract. If Dorrance gets to 12-15 sacks, that's an easy first round pick.

But maybe we can trade Parsons and get 2-3 generational players or at least core contributors in exchange for just 1? And not have to pay Parsons in only 2 years?

What would Bill Belichick do? #WWBBD

While I cant take a post about trading Parsons too seriously I think Armstrong could be a realistic trade block option this offseason coming off a very strong year.

If a team offered a 2nd round pick on draft day do you pull the trigger on a guy in his walk year and save $4MM in the process?
