No. This years and next years first is enough.

How would a tag help? Nobodys parting with first round picks for an injured overpaid QB on a 1 year rental.
 
Id' only take the chance at Lawrence only. Next year's 1st would most likely hafta be included.
Zeke's previous tie ins with Urb may also could offer some influence in draft day maneuvering.

If speaking in terms of trading Dak for Watson I am onboard with that as well with all of the previous conditions added to this scenario as well.

If none of the above, I'm just staying pat.
 
I’m not sure how much they could actually get for the tenth pick unless a QB is sitting there. Teams generally aren’t willing to give up too much unless it is for a QB. The Falcons are the exception jumping from the twenties up to 6 to pick Julio Jones.

Im too close to be objective but IMO Gallup is a young stud and should net a comparable player. Anyway the ONLY reason I'd move him is because we aren't likely to re-sign him. That said I want a full year of watching these weapons as well.
 
Only trade if one of the two top CB's are not there, which is unlikely.

I say this and I'm a huge proponent of trading down when a player is not there that is worth the draft slot, according to the team's board.

Not a draft guru by any means, but I've read as many as 4 qbs going early, Sewell, Devonta Smith and Pitts. Supposedly a lot of offense will be taken ahead of us. Cross your fingers.

We’re not paying him next year when we already have Cooper and Lamb

may as well get a jump start on a defensive starter at the top of rd 2
 
With all the money the Cowboys are about to give to Dak and the money the rest of his teammates have made over the last couple of years, the Cowboys need those draft choices to replenish the roster. We are not going to trade a top 10 draft choice that will be under control for 5 years for a high salary over paid player. We already have enough of those on the roster roster to began with.

I was going to add Lamb to this as prime trade bait for players or picks but I know how much some of you love him so.

They need to jump start the D build out and I see this as a better path to do that. What say you?

I would say cooper trade was an A, but Quin was a D+, or C-.....yeah we gave up a 6th, for a partial year and the player walked....he got a few sacks, but he sucked on run defense.

and like you said all teams have to deal with cap issues......including Dallas.....its going to be an interesting year in FA....probably teams may decide to keep their young talent and let go of their older talent and bloated contracts, so lots of veteran FAs might hit the market...

and I wouldn't mind trading that 10th pick of surtain, farley or parsons aren't available. if Pitts is there, I think some team might make a good trade up to get him. I would be against drafting Pitts. enough offense already. hope that would translate to decent pick this year and a nice future pick (like a mid first round in the 20s, 3rd rounder and a future 2nd).

We get a 4th round pick as compensation, so not too bad a deal.
 
The two players we have that likely have trade value are Dak and Lawrence. Dak will be expensive so there is that. Lawrence would be too but his contract could be reworked. The other thing is, does Lawrence fit? He's really not big enough to play the Strong Side DE in this scheme and he's not quick enough, IMO, to play the Wide 9 guy. His cap percentage is substantial and do you really want to be on the hook for that if he doesn't fit the scheme?
