Trade up - Okudah

A few interesting pieces of information here

1. The Cowboys conducted a virtual interview with Okudah yesterday.

2. The lions have made it clear they are interested in trading down to accumulate picks.

3. If somebody comes up to 3 for a QB, Okudah will definitely be available at 5 or 6. Neither the Giants nor the Dolphins will draft Okudah. So pending on who Det trades with initially (Mia or LAC) that's the spot to jump up to to potentially get Okudah. Obviously this means Det would be trading down again.

4. Lastly, many teams want to stockpile and accumulate picks for T. Lawrence next year. Also, multiple people are reporting that moving up this year is probably going to be cheaper than most years because of the level of uncertainty. Maybe the lions are one of those teams. It would make some sense, there were rumors earlier this off-season that they were finished w Stafford.

It's definitely far fetched. It's probably not going to happen. My question to the board is what is the maximum you would offer to move up from 17 to 5/6, specifically for Okudah? It doesn't have to be picks this year, it also doesn't have to be picks next year..you also don't have to want to move up for Okudah at all. But if you could get the trade done at a little bit of a discount, what does that trade look like for you?

It would take a lot for us to jump up that high to take a corner. Last time we did that we traded up to 6 for clairborne. Not sure it’s in the cards again.

I wouldn’t do it. I’d rather have Chaisson, Reagor & Bryce Hall, for example, than Okudah. On points alone, that still wouldn’t be enough.

Oh hell no. Your talking about trading up into the top 3-4. The cost is far too high and the Cowboys need those picks to use on defense.

Definitely not for a CB, even one as good as Okudah.

Im already having a hard time accepting the possibility they take one at 17

Assuming the first 5 is a run at the QBs, that would mean Chase Young is available at 5..I'd take the Claiborne trade for Chase Young all day long.

It's not realistic at all to make such a trade. Probably have to give up all our picks for the first 5 rounds. Okudah is a good player, but not a once an a lifetime one.

Getting to 6 is way too steep of a price tag. Shouldn’t even be a thought. Trading our 1st, 2nd and 3rd this year wouldn’t even be enough. Couldn’t see the Lions taking anything less than our 1st, 2nd, and 4th this year + 2nd next year (and even that is probably light)

Okudah is good...but we aren’t talking prime Deion here or anything close. The Cowboys aren’t suddenly going to be SB contenders because of Jeff Okudah

Based on the trade chart, #6 is approximately equal to the following Cowboys 2020 picks:

Okudah is a solid, safe top 10 pick but he is not a once in 10 years type of prospect.

• His build is a bit thin.
• He often didn't finish tackles.
• He only had 3 total INTs in college.
