Trades that Dallas could make to help them get over the top

Cowboys needs to stop trying find a fix-er-upper project in the 2nd round, and treat the 2nd round pick like a 1st round pick. There hasn't been any gold to strike in the 2nd round, Tre is an anomaly.

Don't see any trades for the QBs that put them over the top that they need to make. What position is struggling so much it needs a trade? The OL is the part that's struggling, but they're not trading for OL, but maybe a CB. CB would be the move I'd want, too many inactive guys in Scott n Iggy.

I'm just not sure who is out there that would be available and a fit.

Carolina is a team that has a ton of talent, but most of that is also on defense. Does it make sense to give up significant draft capital for an Brian Burns or Derrick Brown? If the Vikings look to be sellers you also need to keep Danielle Hunter on the radar. He would be expensive at a luxory at this point but those types of moves could make the Cowboys defense next level.

Denver is another team to look at. They have some talent at WR in Juedy/Sutton that should be available but Jeudy needs a new contract and Sutton is probably overpaid.

Jaylon Johnson from the Bears? Not sure if CB would be a high priority for the Cowboys to add to, but that would give you a ton of flexibility on the back end of the defense that you lost when Diggs went down.

LB Jordan Hicks from Minnesota could be an interesting name to monitor. Maybe even a Derrick Henry or dare I say Zeke?

It seems to be shaking up to be a season where the Cowboys needs and the players available at the deadline just dont match up well unless they are willing to add to a position of strength. Could change though as more teams fall out of any sort of race. I think we will have to be patient on this front though.
Those pass rushers you mention would go for a premium. 2 firsts

I'd give up quite a bit for Surtain. I've seen his name float around in trade speculation, but Denver would be crazy to deal him: when you tear things down, you get rid of guys who won't be part of your next contender, not the guys who will be.

What's out there and doable for Jerry to pull the plug and make some trades to help this team get to where they need to be.

Who would you trade for guys?
Literally nothing. I don't want any trading. I want all remaining draft picks left in place for 2024.

Trading away some players is a different story.

I haven't seen anything out of this team that makes me think we shouldn't be sellers rather than buyers.

T.J. Edwards is a realistic option (LB bears).

Mid range contract. Not super flashy...just a tackling machine that's always in the right place....and still plenty younger for a LB

Bears know they're in trouble...so maybe they'll be looking to stockpile picks.

Maybe a 3rd? With all of these trades....it just depends on the front offices in what the cost would be. The Bears are usually conservative.....and won't sell on the cheap, even if it's in their best interest

I'm right there with you. Him and Diggs at CB for the next 5 years would be amazing. I'd give up 2 1st rounders for him in a heartbeat and probably more. The only issue I see is he is set to get paid the same year as Parsons, plus you still have Dak, Lamb, etc in line for a raise.

I would definitely kick the tires on trying to get Derrick Henry. Zeke, though I loved having him on the Cowboys, would 1) be a kick to the crotch to trade anything to get him back and 2) is not what we need right now.
Agree completely, but you've got to look at it through the eyes of Jerry....

Dallas has no 5th or 6th round picks as of now for the 2024 draft. They may get some comp picks in that range, but we'll see.

So, I'd assume they are in no rush to ship off more picks unless the deal just made sense in their minds.

Broncos will be sellers, so I could see a guy like Jewell available, but I'm not sure Dallas will trade for a LB if Clark shows improvement and Bell continues to have promising games.
No to their receivers.

Yeah he's great.....but I doubt they trade with us.

They'd want to deal him to a team they think could turn into a lotto ticket pick.

Whether ur optimistic or pessimistic about this team...no sane person thinks we'll end up with a top 10 pick....so even 2 firsts from us likely wouldn't cut it.....as two picks in the 20's just isn't a good haul for a young CB with top 3 potential

I'm willing to bet most of the teams willing to give up players for picks would mostly be the 1 win or less teams. New England, Broncos, Giants, Bears, Cardinals, all have 1 win and Carolina has zero. Is there someone, probably an expiring contract older veteran worth trading a late pick that would bolster the Cowboys depth?
