Too soon to pass judgement on Schoonmaker. Schultz did nothing his rookie year too. Plus, Schoonmaker missed most of training camp so he has some catching up to do. I wasn't a fan of the pick but he needs more time to prove he is a bust. And he is not like Joseph and Williams. They have the physical tools just not the football smarts. Schoonmaker might be the opposite. Still he deserves a chance.

The fact that the Cowboys keep using 2nd round picks on risky player tells me it must be intentional. They are willing to bet the pick on a player at that point. They've been wrong a lot but I supposed if they find a 2nd round talent that shakes off his reputation and plays like a first round pick they think the risk is worth it. They have won 12 games for 2 consecutive seasons, and they are not bad this year, so maybe they are right.

But yeah, why bet a pick when you can trade it for an established player.
And would've won a playoff game if not for the continuous 2nd round goofs.

What's out there and doable for Jerry to pull the plug and make some trades to help this team get to where they need to be.

Who would you trade for guys?
We eed a HAMMER for a RB like Fournette or Henry. Fournette would be cheaper but I'd prefer Henry.

We need a corner, an o-lineman and Derrick Henry. I doubt we make that many moves though.

I don't trust Jerry and son making a great trade that would impact this team and not get fleeced doing it. So just go with what you said was a great team in the preseason. But is anyone gonna bring up the pink elephant in the room? That is a major deterrent in this team going deep into the playoffs.

Why trade for a WR when we can’t get the most out the ones we have now. If it’s going to be a O player it needs to OL or RB.

RT is our weakest link and we just gave him a big contract, I can't see them benching it. I disagree, we need a 3rd viable option Gallup is not it, I don't have much faith in Tolbert, geting a wr who can get open. Juedy low end Cedrick Wilson (he would basically be free).

Top of the list for me is to guys that are mentally tough. I’m sick of the games against great teams (e.g., 49ers) where they punch us in the mouth and our players just lay down and give up. That’s also likely a symptom of the country club Jerry runs. We’re gonna get our a** handed to us in the playoffs if we don’t fix that.

A 3rd WR is going to help us?!?! I disagree vehemently.

I like that we already added Evans at Linebacker. Hes still young and has high production. Bigger linebacker and hard hitter. But I think we need to explore a cb. We need more decent db's. We have the Eagles and Rams coming up and each have talented wr's. We face Miami as well. I'd like to see about adding a vet like Kareem Jackson.

Go get Hunter Renfrow. Seems like he's fallen out of favor with Josh McDaniels but he was a great slot WR before with the old staff. Dak needs great route-running WRs...Renfrow could be another Cole Beasley

Unless we add a guy like Davante Adams, adding a wr makes 0 sense. Thats like changing a tire, expecting it to solve the oil leak. Id see about adding line depth, and a cb and a guy that's been released in Kenyon Drake. For depth.

I like him alot, but I think we view Tolbert and Jalen Brooks as the eventual slot wr.

I bet we are bottom 10 in terms of separation that is a major problem. The only receiver getting open on a somewhat consistent basis is Lamb. It's very similar to last year.

I've said it previously, but give me Danielle Hunter. Send Sam Williams and a pick. Williams is wanting more playing time and his departure opens a spot.
Hunter is currently tied with TJ Watt for the league lead with 8 sacks; he also leads the league in total TFL's and had 3 sacks against the Eagles.
Acquiring Hunter allows Micah to play more LB to include blitzing, and a 'nascar package' could include DLaw, Parsons & Hunter.
