2nd 34# via SF - speculation on the rumors

1st 18# Cooper G
2nd 34# Terron Armstead OT
2nd 47# Giovanni Bernard RB
3rd 80# Brian Schwenke C/OG
4th 111# Duke Williams S

I have a better idea, let's trade all our picks for the next decade and corner the market this year. :)

They aren't drafting three high OL or mortgaging the future with a #1.

Actually, I'd say a 2014 #1 for the 34th pick is pretty solid value.

Where is this a rumor from?

@SullyBaldHead: Cowboys really like the depth in this draft, don't be surprised if they trade future picks (2014-15) for more selections this April.

Yea it's solid value until you are sitting in next years draft room with a need when a guy like Spencer could be gone and you have no first round pick.

If you want to trade a pick you have to do it with some plan.. If you think you are going to get compensatory picks for Felix, Jenkins, and Victor butler you can go ahead and move some future late round picks. Trading future picks always seems like a good idea until you are hit with the reality that the NFL draft is extremely important and you cant afford to have no first rounder unless you used it to get a very good player like the Commanders did with RG3.. If this was next years draft and you were telling me to trade the current first and a future first for Clowney I may be ok with it. I am NOT ok with trading a future first for a high 2nd round pick in this years draft..

If we trade our 1st next year we are idiots of the highest order

So I would not be surprised if Jerry does it

I can see them trading out first next year if either warmack or cooper fall and they can get vaccaro too. Otherwise I don't see it happening

Or better yet

Need a qb

A smart team couldn't do this until they work out their quarterback situation. Which is probably why the Cowboys will do it.

Are you serious? Your saying lets trade a 1st round pick for a 2nd round pick. Where the hell is the value in that?

Nope, no I wouldn't.

The only way is if we get deep into the playoffs. IF we last until the last four, maybe 34 won't be so costly, but if we are giving a 15-28 for a 34, it would be dumb.

I hope the conditions occur to make your opinion correct.

I'm saying, based on how the NFL values future picks, a very high second is good value for a future first. I'm not saying I'd be in favor of such a move, I'm just saying the value would be in-line.
