Trading back

If I remember correctly, the Cowboys had a high 2nd rd grade on Diggs. Where they were picking, if they got shutout of all their 1st rd graded players, Diggs was in consideration in rd 1.

It depends who is on the board, but if they a list of players with a similar grade, why not try to land an additional pick and another starter.
I like players with football bloodlines. Diggs had talent but when I saw him in a interview with his brother I knew he was going to be ready to play. If it is even I am going with Bloodlines. I think Farley has some football in his family as well.

It’s possible both corners and Parsons are gone, with a high level offensive player left on the board. I would rather find a trading partner then reaching to fill a need with a lesser player
I'd be absolutely shocked if Parsons is a top 15 pick.
Don't think he has the highest floor, although his ceiling is very high.
Draft value for a nonrush LB isn't high
Major off the field issue/s.

With that being said if we trade back to the late teens or early 20's it might pique my interest.

When is the last time we have traded? Back with Philly maybe for Martin?

I think Parsons is a lock top 15 prospect due to his upside, might end of being a top 5-8 pick due to not many top defensive prospects in this class.

Both Horn and Samuel Jr. has those NFL Bloodlines as well. It's nice trait to have, but it isn't a guarantee they will be as good as their father's. See Bobby Carpenter.

Go read about some of his off the field issues.
I wouldn't put money on him being a top 15 pick.

Bobby was good his rookie season under Parcels. He played well against the Falcons and in the playoffs against Seattle. He just did not play well in Wade’s system.

Carpenter was a total bust. He never came much of anything throughout his entire pro career.

Major off the field issues? Do you have some links you can share?

First I've heard of it.

Yeah, Carp quite simply lacked the instincts to be a starter at LB. Speed isn't all that important at LB. Lee, for instance, ran a 4.8 and is one of the best in the game.

Those first 9 picks are going to be a mystery because this is a hot draft for QB's and WR's and a shallow one for impactful D players. In an ordinary draft, I would assume Surtain and Parsons being gone but a shallow draft brings GMs wanting to go up for quality and willing to forego several of their quantity picks.

With this crew in the war room, trading up might be the better approach in this draft.

We will likely have our choice of top defensive players at 10. The problem is none of them are incredibly great prospects. So yeah, totally cool with a trade down in this one.

This came up in Gross-Mattos draft as well. Not sure how much Parsons played in this, but Bucky actually mentioned some immaturity issues with Micah and I wonder if this was a part of what he was dicusing.
He’s the best defensive player in the class. I’m sure he’ll be grilled about this during the predraft process. Love the player but serious character concerns we do not need.

I've been saying for many months TRADE DOWN.

It makes sense on so many levels.
