I’m not optimistic that a 6’8” player who was overpowered at tackle will improve with a move inside.

Are you?
Right now, they are trying to get anything out of him IMO. He looked had a tackle and looked bad at guard.

Surprised he was unable to run away with the swing tackle. He was good at FSU and dominated at Marshall. I know Marshall isn’t the NFL, but amazed how bad he’s looked.

I was optimistic that maybe they ‘stole one’ because of Ball’s past issues.

Then I saw him play.

And based on that, my optimism has left town.

And now I’m bummed that the Saints snatched up big one but two veteran guards right before camps started.

He actually did get a little better as the preseason progressed, but he did not look good when he was put out there in the regular season. We've got to remember, though, that last year was really his rookie season since he was on IR his first year.

Whiffed implies that he actually tried to make the tackle. He didn't try. He actively got out of the way.
I disagree with this interpretation. Kittle was juggling the ball and Diggs put his shoulder down to make a hit on the ball/Kittle where he thought it would be. Kittle made the catch and adjusted back toward the sideline, which left Diggs hitting air. I don't understand why this play gets called a business decision or him not trying. He was trying to put a shoulder on the ball, but miscalculated where the ball and Kittle were going to be.

If you are not trying, then you just jump out of the way, you don't throw a shoulder. Diggs' rep takes a beating for this interpretation, but this play doesn't show him diving out of the way or falling to the ground to avoid contact, it just shows him whiffing badly. He deserves some blame for that and Kittle (a very good receiving tight end) deserves some credit.

Still can't properly lead a WR....so what else is new....pfffft. Do NOT extend this guy!!!

I dont think so, even the body catcher “TW” could have caught it, but Simi hands pushed the ball up in air to Scotts hand.

You explained that very well. I looked at the video and dagnabbit you are right, he was going after the ball and Kittle did in fact adjust. It was such a bang bang play. Diggs didn't make a business decision after all. Now I feel a little better about Diggs.

Yeah, the interpretation that he just didn't try has been preached so much that I think most fans believe it. The video evidence doesn't support it. It may support that it was a poor attempt and instead of throwing a shoulder, he should have pulled up and made a sure tackle. But I have a hard time complaining about corners' tackling form; a lot just like to deliver a hit instead of wrapping up. I believe that the video shows Diggs was trying to deliver a hit, particular on the ball that Kittle was juggling. Kittle just made the play and made him look bad.

Lots of good stuff!! Excited to see any form of football back.

Also, could you imagine living in one of those apartments/townhouses (whatever they are) on the south and east side of the fields? Just look out your window and watch Cowboys training camp? Talk about glorious.
