Training camp practice 10 recap: Tavon Austin finally works as a running back

Austin if he can get over the physicality or bigger corners and their speed , he will be awesome. He should be a great change of pace back. I'd like to see him and zeke run the wildcat. I know dak can do it with him too but zeke and tavon running the wildcat would be beastly

I see Bo as someone who struggles to make the practice squad. I don't see what purpose he serves on this roster.

His purpose is to contribute towards the running game.

Simple

I'm guessing this is, partly, in preparation for Week 1 against the Carolina front.

That would be the purpose of every RB, but the team can't keep them all. So the question really is what can he contribute others can't? The battle I see for him is proving he can be more of a multipurpose RB and not just a big body for short yardage, and also that he can contribute on special teams.

You may be right. But I was hearing a lot more about him then most 7th round picks.

I think it was bc of the fact that he played for Alabama...hes got potential to be a change of pace back for sure but we have a bit of young depth at rb that is putting him at the back of the line

Bro tavon has already made the team and the cowboy have special plans for him. All that extra assumption dont matter.

Simple as that.

Bo will make the team too. No worries.

It doesn’t worry me in the least. Whether he makes the team or not. But like I said, he’s going to have to show some versatility to have a chance.

Not really. He will be a change of pace back for Zeke which doesnt require you to be all that versatile. That's what we have Zeke for. Bo will come in and get up hill bashing the defense after Zeke has done damage.

The track car and straight line drag car is all you need for the backfield. Simple. Dont beat yourself up about all that other nonsense

Depth has to be able to step in and fill the starting role if needed too, which requires versatility. Besides, I’m pretty confident if he makes the 53 at all it will be 3rd string, and they will want someone who can play special teams in that role. I assume you disagree about him being third string, but we will just have to agree to disagree on that.

It doesnt matter if he is 3rd string because the back up positions rotate enough for either to get their fair share of carries.

Not worried about all that other talk because I know this team in and out.
