Jon Machota‏@jonmachota 5m
Tyrone Crawford getting some first-team reps at left DE
Jeff Heath working with first team in place of Barry Church
Romo's first four team drills snaps are all hand-offs

Brandon George‏@DMN_George 3m
14 players aren't practicing for Dallas Cowboys defense tonight. Full pads again, even QB Tony Romo.
Safety Jeff Heath taking first-team reps in practice for Barry Church.

David Moore‏@DavidMooreDMN 23s
WR Chris Boyd makes nice sideline catch with tight coverage to end drill. He's consistently making plays the last 2 days.

Tim MacMahon‏@espn_macmahon 3m
George Selvie (groin) joins list of Dallas DL missing practice. Tyrone Crawford working with starters at LDE.

Todd Archer‏@toddarcher 38s
Barry Church in pads but not going thru individual drills. Minor ankle sprain
Romo throwing 1v1 routes with TEs, RBs. Not exactly full speed for him so far

Clarence Hill‏@clarencehilljr 2m
No Church. No Selvie. No Terrell McClain. No Claiborne. All among long list injured Cowboys missing practice today
Romo practicing. 14 cowboys sitting out
Lots of drops today. Street had two. Hanna and Newsome one each
Cowboys defense not showing much fight today. But they are without 14 injured guys
Street comes up limping. Receivers coach Derek Dooley told him to walk it off
Beasley just beat Scandrick got a deep ball to end practice. Scandrick throws helmet.

Charean Williams‏@NFLCharean 3m
George Selvie has a groin injury. Didn't do much yesterday. He said yesterday it was short term, nothing to worry about.
Devin Street limps off.

David Helman‏@HelmanDC 1m
Barry Church is at practice.
McClain is leaving the field with Jim Maurer after a short stint at practice. Guess they tried the hamstring and it didn't feel good.
The Cowboys have four CBs practicing today. Four. Not a big surprise they're looking for someone to sign.
To this point, practice has been real ugly. Dropped balls, miscues at the line. You name it.
2nd team O gets to the goal line on first play. Street leaves the field limping. He tried to go back to the huddle and Dooley pulled him out
Practice ends early after Beasley beats Scandrick deep for a TD.
Street said someone stepped on his toe. Said he's fine.

Rowan Kavner‏@KavnerDC 42s
Andddd not for long. McClains walking off the field with Jim Maurer. Wonder if the hamstring acted up again
This has been a relatively sloppy practice after yesterday's intense one. Poorly thrown passes, drops, fumbled snaps, etc
Melton doing some strong work today in 2-on-2 pass rush drills
It's been the Dwayne Harris show during red zone drills. Meanwhile, Devin Street comes up limping
Or maybe just the third receiver show. Beasley got open deep for a long TD. And not just a short catch and run. Got behind Scandrick.
Melton doesn't anticipate getting much PT in this first preseason game
Street didn't want to say what was wrong with him. Only said he's fine and he'll practice tomorrow. Looks like knee or ankle, though

Bryan Broaddus‏@BryanBroaddus 53s
McClain LB had a little bit of hamstring strain during Sundays practice but appears to be moving around well now in these drills.

Jordan Ross‏@JordanRoss08 10m
Morris Claiborne, Matt Johnson and Dashaun Phillips just came out to do some rehab work.
Tony Romo and Scott Linehan are always talking. Working on developing a strong relationship.
Jay Novacek is at today's practice.
Devin Street, who's had a very good camp, dropped an easy pass on a slant. Linehan tells offense to run the play again. Makes the catch.
Dez, Williams, Street and Newsome with consecutive catches to start 1-on-1 drills vs CB's. Mitchell forces first incompletion vs Byrd.
BW Webb is giving WR's too much pace off the line. Guys getting open too easily.
Dez is 2-for-2 against Scandrick today.
Williams just got open against Mitchell deep down field, but Hanie overthrew him.
WR's against BW Webb are 4-for-4 so far today.
Street having a rough practice. Dropped his 2nd pass of the day. Ball went right through his hands and bounced off his face mask.
Claiborne was watching the CB's in 1-on-1's from the sideline, mirroring their movements. Not practicing but doing as much work as he can.
Kyle Wilber with really nice pursuit of Murray, stopping him for a minimal gain. Rain from end of the field to the other to make the stop.
Tony Romo with a quick pass to DeMarco Murray. Travis Frederick was 20+ yards downfield blocking for him.
Bernadeau with a nice job against Hayden in 1-on-1's. Martin (once again) held Melton in check. Crawford overpowered Free.
Tyrone Crawford has some serious power. Strong dude.
Melton (finally) best Martin. Dashed by him for what would've been an easy sack.
Caesar Rayford just shot around John Wetzel and then beat Ronald Patrick in back-to-back plays during O-line vs D-line drills. (Admin Edit: Who?)
Time for team red zone drills. Always an exciting part of practice.
Romo hit Williams on a slant route in red zone drills. Appeared he made the diving catch, but it was ruled incomplete.
Tony Romo finds Cole Beasley on 3rd and 5. Ball is near the 10 yard line. 1st and goal.
Murray gains 5 or 6 yards but is stopped short of the end zone by Wilber.
Romo hits Dwayne Harris on 3rd and goal for the TD.
Dwayne Harris with a big catch and run on the first play of the 2nd team's red zone session. Sets up 1st and goal.
Dwayne Harris with another TD catch. This time with the 2nd team. Big day for #17!
Street is back out there. Looks like he's walking it off.
Romo hits Beasley deep down field for a long TD. Not just a one-trick pony.
Tyrone Crawford is sticking around after practice to talk with Rod Marinelli.
Tony Romo greeting his parents after practice. Introducing them to his new play-caller Scott Linehan.

Dez makes a nice adjusting catch in the end zone. Thrown a little behind him. pic.twitter.com/uxDymf6q96

Tony Romo, practicing in full pads....come on, let's hear it haters....LOL
Sorry, couldn't resist.....

Now that is damn encouraging! Get it Romo! He must have felt good after yesterday which is really encouraging, because he had to move and throw off balance. Now that's the stuff I like to hear

Of those 14:

Carr, Claiborne, Gardner, McClain, Church, Selvie, Johnson, Hamilton, Phillips, Okoye, Spencer, Moore, Lawrence, Smith

Some of those guys are long shots to make the team.

A few of those guys are being held out strictly for pre-cautionary reasons.

2 of those guys are not even going to contribute with Okoye being a 3rd who may never see a down on this team.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I see two "starters" at CB, our 7th round pick, a DT who is supposed to be a real starter, our best pass rusher believe it or not, our best safety and leader, someone who should feel lucky we have an inept front office, a camp body, a mystery who is only here because of Marinelli's familiarity with him, a player coming off of microfracture surgery, our 2nd round pick with a broken foot and a late round choice chosen only because he might be a special teamer.

Long shots? Not really. More to them, unfortunately. The "some" is more like a few.

I get your frustrations, but the media is inflating that number with 3 guys that can't even contribute to a practice in the near future. Johnson won't even make the team, and Carr is not even injured.

Selvie, McClain, and Church are not serious and are being babied back into the lineup to reduce the risk of further injury.

Eventually you have to wonder why the injury concerns are so lopsided on one side of the football.

Eventually? It's been on my mind for quite a bit.
I could say "Certainly the coaching staff is on top of this, if we are...", but who knows anymore.
