Training staff issues with hamstrings?

Our medical staff couldn't diagnose itself out of a paper bag. ;)

Isn't Tanner on IR with a hamstring?

Broaddus or Mosley on was saying yesterday that Tanner claimed he was fine when they IR'd him. They said it seemed like they IR'd him as a way to keep his rights without releasing him more for than an actual injury. Of course they may be regretting that now.

It is not our training staff. Look around the league there are a lot of teams who have been dealing with hamstrings on and off all year long

We will get to see how Asante Samuel handles his "hammy" problem Saturday night. Personally, I think they should attack him and force the issue, as he will not be 100% for the game.

the loss of the offseason was bigger on this team because we have brought back a strenght and condition coach so i dont expect him to work wonders with way less time than needed to get this team better conditioned.

The man's rep is sterling but....with NO offseason to speak of, this was bound to happen: look at other rosters in the NFL: similar injuries:banghead:

I'm all for attacking Samuel. The guy loves to bite on the short routs and if he has a hammy issue then running double moves on him is even better.

I find it hard to believe that just missing the regular training would make that much difference. These guys by and large know what they need to do and they had acess to private gyms and the like. I doubt it really had that much of an effect.

I agree, not sure the lockout had much to do with it. Hamstring injury are just a common part of this game and once a guy has a hamstring injury they tend to become a year long problem.

Isn't it a violation of the rules to IR someone who isn't really injured?

I blame the tv show House for this.

Not everything happens in one hour including commercial breaks you know.

You mean House isn't really a doctor and the show's not a documentary?:

Happens ALL the time in the NFL -- it's a convenient way for team to hide young players that they don't want to expose to the practice squad.

More typically happens in pre-season and the early season.

That's what happens when you make rampant speculation without any facts. The reason we didn't hear much about it is because of a little thing called HIPPA.

If you're in the health field, fine. If not, shut up.

Except HIPAA doesn't really apply when teams are required to report injuries to the league, who then gives the info out to the public.

Not only are the required to report injuries, they have to report the precise injury. I once saw a player listed as being out due to an "infection." This does seem like a violation of medical privacy though.
