Trap game

Relax fella, the Skins have won like twice in the last 16 trips to Texas Stadium, we own their arse in our building.

Besides, the Skin suck this year. They had to go down to the wire to beat the freaking Cardinals in their house. How bad to you have to suck to almost get beat by the freaking Cardinals:laugh2:

The Skins sucks this year? Someone isn't paying attention. Take a look:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=2580

The Skins secondary shut down Drew Brees. The same guy who just went into Denver and lit up...LIT UP the Broncos to the tune of 421 yards. He put up 343 against Tampa. Against the Skins? 216. Warner was coming off a game against the Dolphins (yeah I know it's the Dolphins, but bear with me) where he threw 361 and 3 TDs. He had something like 2 TDs in his first 9 passes.

He was shut down -- except for one blown coverage against Fitzgerald -- against our secondary.

This is going to be a good game. Don't sleep on the Skins. And don't sleep on this rivalry. You never know what is going to happen!

We should win because we can run...but teams that cannnot run will have a hard time beating the Skins.

Stopping Barber and Jones is going to be very, very difficult. Jacobs and Edge had good days against us. I am actually more worried about those two then TO.

How can a division game against a team on 2 game win streak be a trap game? If the Skins were limping into Texas 0-3, then maybe the Boys could fall into a trap. But the Skins are 2-1 feeling pretty good about themselves, Dallas knows they will have to bring it.

Should be a good game, expect Dallas to pull away early in the 4th.

Now the game against Cincy, now THAT could be huge trap game.

Leaving out that they are and have always been our biggest rivals and that is a division opponent. Last years disgraceful showing in Washington is more then enough to get this team fired up.
Plus, it's the Commanders last trip to Texas Stadium.

if you think Edge had a good day...then you are about to be in for a real treat....and it is bigger than Barber and Felix...its dealing with all of those 330+ pound OL leaning on your undersized DL all day. Arizona cannot bring the pain like Dallas

Arizona has a good and well coached line. But not like Dallas' that is the biggest concern for me...

somehow i dont think of our biggest rivalry as a " trap " type of game

I agree rivalry games are far from trap games. Playing a team like Detriot or the Rams could be considered a trap game but a game vs the Commanders I don't think so

We lost that game b/c Parcells decided to call off the dogs after going up 13-0(and Cortez's missed FG didn't help either).

As for this being a "trap" game, aren't the Skins 2-1, winning their last 2 after dropping their opener to the defending champs?

Here's what I DO know-we need to PROTECT our own territory like we did against the Eagles, why? B/c these NFCE matchups are tough-going into FedEx and winning is easier said than done, so we at least need to take care of business on our end this weekend. I think our Boys WILL be prepared to do so.

Did ya have to bring that up? ;)

This game coming up is THE trap game of the year.......so far.........
This team. All the hype. Coming of a big win on the road against the Puckers. Looking good.
The coaching staff better keep this group grounded and serious and prepared for every game.
The Skins have been a pain in the arse for a few years now. This game has "trap" written all over it!! Remember the game two years ago? 13-0 with two minutes left? Final score was 14-13 Commanders................
Just thinking out loud here. Just worried about coming home cocky and arrogant and thinking that we're "all that".
Please, just show up and play hard and pummel them like we're supposed to.
Please................................

The trap game is the Bengals game

This "trap game" nonsense has to stop. The whole idea is a rejection of and antithetical to the notion of self-confidence.

We used to want a team to be confident. We used to want a team to have the idea that "we will beat everyone we play."

Ever since this "trap game" BS started, fans seem to want the opposite of self-confidence: fear. Some fans want us to fear the other good teams because they are so good, and then fear bad teams because it might be a "trap game." In other words, these fans want the team worried about every game.

Screw that BS. I want my team confident. I want my team to expect to win every single game they play. I want my team to have the mindset that they will pound whoever stands in their way.

I support and salute self-confidence earned through hard work and dedication to the singular goal of winning. I reject this garbage about fearing other teams. It's BS. The other teams should be fearing us each week.

So cut out the trap game BS. Most of the time it is misused, and even when it is not, it still is a facile and extremely weak way of viewing competition.

Confidence, baby!

It is called respect of the teams you play and understanding they are capable of winning. Irvin once said the biggest motivator is the fear of losing that is what gets teams focused. Acting like we are playing a bunch high school teams is a sure fire way of losing.

Well, you can respect the other team, i.e. not underestimate them, and still have the self-confidence that you will win. Usually, doing the former, only enhances the latter.

I'm sure our guys are confident and as a fan I think we are capable of winning every week against any team but I also have been watching the NFL for over 40 years and have played organized sports long enough to know that nothing is a given and underestimating your opponent is a sure fire way to get beat. I believe is the saying in sports you fear no one but respect everyone.

Oh noes!!!

Really... I don't think this is a trap game, being against a hated division foe -- especially the way they've crowed about being us in that meaningless final game last year when we didn't even care about winning.

The trap game -- or letdown game -- might be after that, when we slow down to catch our breath after this tough opening stretch and take a weaker opponent lightly.
