IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick has heard about the rookie wall, he just has not seen it yet and doesn't know if he ever will.

i

Frederick"We're just in the thick of it, in the routine and halfway home," Frederick said. "A couple weeks here we'll have the bye week then we'll have a different week with Thanksgiving and everything. Right now it's all downhill from here basically."

Frederick has started every game and taken every snap so far this season. He said the preparation of an NFL season compared to a college season is designed to keep a player fresher throughout.

"At the end of your season in college they're meant to have worn you out basically," Frederick said.

The Cowboys practice only one day a week in pads and most of the time it is not even for a full practice.

"Everything we've asked him to do he does," coach Jason Garrett said.

I am glad I was so wrong about this pick...will admit I hated it at the time. Team actually did a little research and found a guy with some talent...OL every year in first 2 rounds until the other 3 are filled out. This team needs to use premium picks at the position it seems (only two good players are recent first round draftees; Smith and Fred

Free has "woke up" but would still invest a 1/2 on a Tackle

I like Frederick except he looks too much like Brainpaint and that scares me.

Honestly, Sarge...I couldn't understand why Frederick wasn't a higher rated prospect. I immediately put him in the bottom of the 1st round when he declared. With his skill set, smarts and the OL factory he was coming out of. Some of these draftniks were just way off putting him in the middle rounds.

I respect your position on this forum because I think many don't get your passion. The OL NEEDS to be given more attention...we have the weapons and need the meat to make it work. You have an ally on OL support and feel that it is the CORE of what is wrong with this team. You CANNOT have a heavy O with no emphasis on the O-Line...that is the way of the league right now. Passing, passing, screen pass categorized as a run to give credibility "announcers not me speaking". TBH I'm thinking why they have to justify it...you run when you NEED to in this league and many fans associate a good OL with a good run game. You draft and adapt to this passing league, OL that can move and allow ANYONE (like Romo) to complete the needed passes to make O's move in this league. You don't need dominace like the 90's line showed, but this neglect over the years has Romo basically improvising on every pass play which is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Posters miss this point unfortunately...

I was happy with the pick - I had him as a second rounder but had no complaints when they picked him. It was a major need. He'll be a quality player for as for a very long time.

Totally agree, the OL needs to be addressed and fixed all the way across, tackle to tackle. When I look back to the 90"s Cowboys I see a dominant offensive line.

Thank you. We have a legitimate franchise QB. That guy is a great QB. I've hated to see him have to overcome the players paid to protect him. Jerry talks about being Romo friendly. The truth is he's been as Romo unfriendly as possible.

It's all about protecting your QB and harassing the opposing QB in this league. You can't out cover people consistently. The rules are slanted against you.

Clock's ticking, bro. Romo isn't getting any younger. This guy can win a title. I am convinced of it. We need to get some players up front on both sides of the ball to give him a realistic chance at it. That's far more Romo friendly than adding another wideout or tight end.

By the time of the draft I had him 50th overall. I probably let the negative Frederick people effect my ranking a little.

We're damn lucky to have this kid. Heck, if he just played like his rookie form his entire career it would be a success. He's only going to get better with experience.

I agree dude, it is frustrating as hell to "act" like we even try to cover the OL. We have money NOW and we don't pick up expensive "types" bc, what do they show over Arkin? The Dallas PR has worked over the fans great in this arena. It is all or nothing...We could sign dudes right NOW that may help but do not you dare question JJ's ability to find OL talent? This isn't JJ's $ it is EGO if you haven't got that part other eager repliers :) No I didn't want the whole draft to be OL you easies?

Frederick and Smith are the cornerstones of the line. The Cowboys just need to finish the job and have a top notch offensive line.
