We know our DL coach went up to Conn. to personally work out Travis Jones. He absolutely dominated in the senior bowl practices and in the actual game against all competition. He is more then just a 2 down run player, where some believe he can play multiple techniques. He is being compared to Chris Jones from the Chiefs. We all have been screaming for a player like this, why not take him at 24?

I know I would love that pick - unfortunately, history shows the Cowboys would NOT!!!!!

You finally have given in. He would be the missing piece to the defense in my opinion. Sign me up!!!!!

i am not against this at all but OP knows that will never happen, maybe if we traded down and he is still there at 30 or lower.
If Jones was playing for an SEC, he would be a top 15. Probably would be the top defensive tackle in the draft. He would walk in and be our best defensive linemen today.

If they would take a DT in the first it would probably be one from Georgia.

I don't see a way they would take Jones there unless we were totally wiped out and could not trade down.
I would take Jones over Davis, think he is the better player and offers more 3 down abilities.

I'm officially on the Travis Jones train as I think he has the biggest impact for our defense. Might be a little high, but he is what this team needs!
After about the top 18 all the players have about the same grade 19 thru 45. It just depends what your cup of tea. If Davis is drafted in the top 15, I could see the Chargers drafting Jones if the one of the offensive tackles don’t fall to them. This draft will be impossible to predict once we get in the teens.

I'm on the trade down a bit, pick up an extra third, and then take Jones and then Kinnard at 56. The best WR/TE/Edge with our two picks in the 3rd and pick in the 4th.
With those two giants in the middle, we are suddenly much bigger and stronger up the middle.

I really wish I had some tape on Jones playing against the SEC. I like both of these players very much, but would take Davis because I have seen the tape on him playing against SEC competition.
Jones may very well be better, but I am fairly certain Davis would provide the Cowboys with what they really need on the DLine.

With that said, I doubt Dallas takes either of them.

CBS did just a draft today that gave Travis Jones to us at 56

Probably right that they won't take either. We did see Travis Jones play well against top competition at the Senior Bowl.

I agree. TJones got on my radar because of his play there.

Unfortunately that still leaves lots of questions for me.

Give me TJones/JDavis and DKinnard/KGreen/ZJohnson in the first two rounds and I am a happy fan.

With this said............too many years of "playing this who should they get game" to realize that Dallas does not think the way many of us fans do, and a large percentage of us fans will never agree on anything anyway.
