They play different positions, already have a log jam at the 3
Ah I didn't see this before my post above.

I just don't see them doing this the way they operate.

They dont value DT and get gashed in the run game in the playoffs repeatedly.....and still don't value DT.

They need a stud there by accident....and they are difficult to find when you're actually trying.

I'm a big fan, but 24 is too rich for me. I think he's a solid top 60/70ish prospect but not a 1st rounder.

In the 1st round I"m looking for whoever that top 20ish talent is to fall.

Really believe that 1 dominate player inside is the key to finally having a legitimate defense, onw without many weakness at all. Certainly, could upgrade Lve/Hooker, but there ok in their roles.

I'd take him at 24. But then again I don't go off of expert's opinion and I know for a fact if he went to Clemson he'd be hyped top 20.

I'm on the trade down a bit, pick up an extra third, and then take Jones and then Kinnard at 56. The best WR/TE/Edge with our two picks in the 3rd and pick in the 4th.
With those two giants in the middle, we are suddenly much bigger and stronger up the middle.

THIS^^^

Trade down between 27-30 for high 3rd/late 2nd.

Trade down again to top of 2nd + 3rd.

Draft:

2a - OL Tyler Smith
2b - NT Travis Jones
3a - ED Sam Williams
3b - LB Leo Chenal
3c - WR Christian Watson or TE Jelani Woods

Fun, but not realistic. We be lucky enough to trade down once.

We know our DL coach went up to Conn. to personally work out Travis Jones. He absolutely dominated in the senior bowl practices and in the actual game against all competition. He is more then just a 2 down run player, where some believe he can play multiple techniques. He is being compared to Chris Jones from the Chiefs. We all have been screaming for a player like this, why not take him at 24?
Where have Durde working out Jones?

Why? Because he would've fattened up on the weakest conference in college football the ACC?

They've had big DTs on their leaking draft boards in the past. The big DT in Green Bay and one of the more successful Alabama DTs were both early 2nd rounders on the Cowboys draft board.

I really wish I had some tape on Jones playing against the SEC. I like both of these players very much, but would take Davis because I have seen the tape on him playing against SEC competition.
Jones may very well be better, but I am fairly certain Davis would provide the Cowboys with what they really need on the DLine.

With that said, I doubt Dallas takes either of them.
He destroyed everybody he faced in 1-on-1 drills at the Senior Bowl. Zion was the only OL with any success against him, and he tossed Zion to the ground on 1 rep.

Travis Jones has pass rush ability.

Davis is a run downs only type DT. The Cowboys have never considered those to be worth a 1st round pick.

I like Winfrey over Jones.
Winfrey is 3-tech only.

Jones is 1-tech or 3-tech.

Jones is exactly the type of player the Cowboys need.
- They have multiple players for the same role that Winfrey would play.

Winfrey is a very good player and could be the Cowboys pick at #56 if they don't draft a DT earlier.
