Travis Jones DT UConn at 24!

THIS^^^

Trade down between 27-30 for high 3rd/late 2nd.

Trade down again to top of 2nd + 3rd.

Draft:

2a - OL Tyler Smith
2b - NT Travis Jones
3a - ED Sam Williams
3b - LB Leo Chenal
3c - WR Christian Watson or TE Jelani Woods
Yep....that certainly works.

He destroyed everybody he faced in 1-on-1 drills at the Senior Bowl. Zion was the only OL with any success against him, and he tossed Zion to the ground on 1 rep.

Travis Jones has pass rush ability.

Davis is a run downs only type DT. The Cowboys have never considered those to be worth a 1st round pick.
You've got me a little sold here.

Winfrey is 3-tech only.

Jones is 1-tech or 3-tech.

Jones is exactly the type of player the Cowboys need.
- They have multiple players for the same role that Winfrey would play.

Winfrey is a very good player and could be the Cowboys pick at #56 if they don't draft a DT earlier.
Winfrey can play all over the line. They like him.

Not arguing your thoughts on these two.

I just haven't seen Jones against real competition, except for at the senior bowl.
Doing what Davis did against Alabama, multiple times, against Auburn, LSU, etc
Jones played for a team that lost every game this last year, except against Yale. Gave up over 40 in 7 out of 12 games.

Not that TJones is or isn't a better player, but I just haven't seen him against the competition that I have seen Davis.

I don't believe that JDavis is only a run down type DT either. I believe that is what they asked for him to do at Georgia, and he did his job very well, allowing Wyatt and those LB's to be much higher rated because of it. That is what I hope he does for the Cowboys, lets Parsons, Tank, Gallimore and the others excel.

Jones is in the ilk of the two Washington DTs. Although not quite as highly rated as either of them, the big strong athletic DT.
He will go anywhere between mid thirties to mid forties. He will not make it to 56.
It would have to be a trade back, and then just take him.
In my mind he is exactly what this defensive front needs - and yet again won't get.

A trade down In the first ad add another third or fourth round pick…I’d take it

I’d actually be very surprised if he’s NOT available at our 2’d round pick.

He’s good, but he’s not a game wrecker. Those dudes are hard to find and are generally the ones that go early or top 50.

Theres a laundry list of better DT prospects that layer in much bigger schools that didn’t get drafted til the 2nd round. I think Jones goes in the 3rd.

I think the latter. he is better then those two down run players and has legitimate, 3 down potential. Saw a mock yesterday from NFL.com that he was selected by the Bucs at 27.
