Taylor wrote a story about him in the DMN today. It is posted a few threads down.

I've never heard of this guy... i would have to look him up.

I do remember that the coaching staff had high hopes for Mike Jefferson though, i think that was his name.

Third (EDIT) round pick of the Browns a few years ago. He was injured and never cut it with them, had a cup of tea with the Broncos and ended up on our practice squad last year after Jefferson's suspension was over.

It would be nice to have a Marc Colombo-like salvage project pan out again.

Come on guys. He even played in the Big XII just north of Dallas. He was at OU. He was also one of the players featured in "Two Days in April," the movie that spotlighted four players headed into the draft.

Productive receiver at OU. I believe he came out as a junior, but I don't remember for sure. Hasn't done anything in the pros, but there is definitely a little potential. Hopefully our coaches can coach it out of him better than his last team.

thanks. how's his speed?

BIO: All-Conference selection the past two seasons. Slowed by a foot injury as a senior and totaled just 25/310/1. Posted career-best numbers of 50/660/11 as a junior.

POSITIVES: Athletic receiver with natural pass-catching skills. Displays eye/hand coordination, and gets vertical to pluck the ball from the air. Takes a pounding, holds onto the ball and is effective running after the reception. Effectively body-catches when necessary, using his frame to shield away opponents. Remains alert, comes back to the quarterback and consistently works to make himself an available target.

NEGATIVES: Marginal route-runner who does not consistently play with balance. Lacks top-end speed and is not a deep threat.

ANALYSIS: After a disappointing campaign last year, Wilson returned and performed well at the Senior Bowl. May slip through the cracks but could be one of the draft's better bargains late in Day One.

Taking no-risk shots on former high picks like Wilson and Siavii can't be a bad idea... As long as they aren't personal and legal disasters like Pacman, of course.

Is Jefferson no longer with the team?

They dumped him after his suspension for steroids was over. They probably realized it was the roids that was helping him improve so much.

I don't remember that for some reason, thanks.

The ESPN draft guide has travis Wilson at 6'1 1/8" and 208 lbs.

4.45 forty

Positives: A strong, physical receiver with deceptive speed and toughness. Unafraid to go over the middle. Shows good recognition skills. Knows how to use frame to shield defenders and has a good feel for finding holes in zone coverages. Has big hands and does a great job of catching the ball in traffic. Can catch balls thrown overhead, and utilizes his burst to adjust to deep balls. Savvy and tough after the catch, with the shiftiness to make the first defender miss. Also has experience and considerable upside returning kickoffs.

Negatives: Good speed, but is a coaster, not a burner. Must improve double moves and crispness as route-runner. Lets the ball into his pads too often and needs to learn how to pluck with his hands. Season ending foot surgery during senior year makes durability a big question.

NFL equivalent: Mushin Muhammad
