QB is by far the most important.

You start by finding a quality QB.

Then you build an offensive line.

Then you build a defensive line.

Everything else comes after that.

what has always puzzled me about Jethro was that he was a guard on a NC team and he downrates the value of DTs
Only reason he was on that team was because of being born wealthy. Silver Spoon privilege which he carries forth in his management of the Cowboys.

Get me the front office and coaches first ,...
Coach-wise : let them lay down an effective capable scheme design and philosophy and attitude mentality tone.

Then we can work on getting the right players to succeed.

Me it goes back to an oft-heard cliche' .. the better coaches know how to find the better ways to get their players in the best positions
to excel at their best. (or something close to that saying)

- We clearly have not done that with sorry Solari on the OL side.

While i'm just not near convince about the Zimmer DL staff of Ngonia and Ellis either.

Shortcomings in those areas have been the biggest reason Dak and Romo can't win in the post season.
The Cowboys struggles in the post season are a direct result of the Joneses being cheap with free agency. I still don’t understand why Jerry never goes after the so called “War Daddy” that he has bee talking about for years. Never goes out and get one.

put down your rose colored Homer glasses. They have not proven that they will be quality starters.
What rose colored homer glasses???

Thomas was a 7th round pick just a little over 6 months ago. Richards was a 5th just last year.

All I said is they appear to be hits. I said NOTHING about them being proven starters. I have no clue where you got that from.

Forget the rose colored homer glasses for me. Why don't you stop putting words in my mouth?

It's simple....Use the same blue print they used in the 90's. Great coach. Build the defense to stop the run. Draft a high pick quarterback. A great runner and get some receivers. Of course you might not strike gold as they did then. But just follow this blueprint and you'd be miles ahead of what they are now....That's why I know without a doubt Jerry had very little to do with the 90.s build. If he did he could of replicated it by now.....Build up the trenches as you've said. And go from there after hiring a "real" coach....AND GM!!!!!

We can talk about all the weapons we wish we had, the skilled players, a better QB, a better pass rusher. NONE of this means anything without the help from some big nasty mean guys. These are the guys that get in there and do the dirty work that we need so bad, but it seems like this position is overlooked every off season. We've made strides in picking up OL guys, but we have to better evaluate players, or leave them at the position they played at in college.

On offense and defense, how much would Dak be, or Micah be if we had some guys that could bully people around. The success of this team is dependent upon us building up our trenches, and doing everything possible to allocate resources/PROPER evaluations to make this happen. Please give your thoughts on this
They need to get a qb that can run like the Alabama qb.

And while you are building that line your expensive QB is getting the crap beaten out of him

Appear to be hits. Wrong. They appear to have talent; no real indications that they are HITS

trenches is the key to building any football team. you can't create holes, protect the QB, then you are screwed. you can't stop the run, create pass rush up the middle, then you are screwed.
So true. That’s why I’d go LT if possible in the first, move Guyton to RT. Cut Steele and let bass have a shot at RG. The entire oline would be on rookie contracts which helps with the guys like Dak, lamb and Micah’s cost

Yep, unfortunately, the team doesn't see it that way. Our top 10 pick is going to be a RB or WR. Jerry likes the guys who score TDs and sell jerseys.

No, me lovable lout, it starts with wise drafting for needs, not an excellent dervish who becomes a flash in the plan.
Yes, the trenches in mind when drafting.
FA can provide depth but I am dubious about spending on older guys on the descent.
