Why isn't Romo included on the "lock" list? Injuries were only the reasons he didn't exceed 4,000 yards last season.

If Romo had played in the three games he missed, he would've had over 4,200 yards passing, which would've placed third in the league.

That's a great question.

I read an article by some dippy idiot this weekend that said that Romo had an "off year" last season with dipping stats--and of course he completely failed to mention the injury.

The only thing I can say is, when the league was showering Romo with affection, he didn't come through for us... but now that he is "overrated" maybe that's what it will take to put a spark under him to go all the way (that's what it took for Eli Manning... and that guy doesn't have half the natural abilities of Romo).

Yeah, Rodgers passed for 4038 yards in his first year. Barely 4000.

I'm saying that's no guarantee that he'll do it this year.

I say Romo gets 4160 yards, 38 TDs, 10 Int...

If he does that well with that few ints....that means our running game will be clicking too. So, hell yeah!:D

Exactly. I think people underestimate the importance of a particular whiny receiver being gone--we now get to experience our very talented QB throwing the ball to whomever he wants to at any given time.

We can now go to the game plan that says, if you are open, you get the ball--and if your butt keeps dropping passes, hit the bench.

Romo had 3448 last year in 13 games... at that pace, he would've had 4244 in 16 games.

But he's not a "lock" like Aaron Rodgers is. Right.

I agree that neither is a lock. There's some uncertainty in both cases. We want to run more and we lost TO--which may or may not affect Romo's numbers. And Green Bay would like to get their running game going again too...plus they hope to not be playing from behind so much due to the defense.

I'd like to see us make a long run into the playoffs with a Super Bowl waiting at the end.

Individual stats mean squat to me, to be honest.

if Romo throws for 4000+, then something's gone horribly wrong with our running game. I think it's a year where Tony doesn't have to throw for 4000.
