If I have to explain to you how one player on a team, especially the one playing the most important position on the team, can kill their teams chances of winning a game, then I'm afraid you don't watch team sports enough to understand why the analogy of 1 weak link breaking a chain works.
Please explain because it doesnt work in a team sport since other links can pick up for a weak link. In a chain this isn't possible. So one weak link in a chain will certainly break the chain but 1 weak link in a sport with 22 starters doesn't break the team otherwise only a perfect team of all stars would win. Every team has plenty of weak links.
