I think he is a good player...but he is not Micah.

I bet people though we were crazy to trade Herschel Walker....am I am not suggesting we would get a haul for Diggs like we got for Walker. But unless giving him 150m makes you better than saving 150m and getting a stud DL...then you bring in the stud DL

Dallas has been sitting out of free agency to pay guys like Lamb, Micah and Diggs. I don't think you can pay all three top 3 money for their position. I would keep 2 and trade 1. That 1 would be Diggs.
I agree, they probably can't keep all 3 without being tottaly stupid, (uh oh) and Diggs would be the odd man out at this point.

Does it seem to anyone else that the NFL owners hate Jerry and screw him in every deal he tires to make? To me he's the worst at making trades. While guys like ol Howie in Filthydumpia seem to get the best deals for nothing! Is this their way of getting back at him for that Herschel Walker deal that set us up so good, for so long?

I dont need my near shutdown CB to tackle.
But the Cowboys do. I appreciate a CB with good coverage skills as much as the next guy, but defense is defense, and sometimes defense requires the skill of tackling and the willingness to do it.

One of you talented computer guys post a gif of Diggs’ attempt at tackling Kittle juggling the pass…

You didn't hear much about Diggs in 2022, and for a corner, that is a very good thing. Dude erased WR1s. We lined him up on Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Mike Evans, and Scary Terry, and all of those guys did nothing.

If you trade him, you are asking to put Kelvin Joseph or a rookie on those dudes. See what happens.
Probably be where we are now.

Honestly after seeing all the “business decisions” I’ve seen him make on the field this season something tells me once he gets paid he’s just gonna mail it in full time like most do after a huge contract

Completely rebuild the secondary this offseason and move on from diggs

A realistic trade would be for Ramsey - rams need to clear salary cap room and Diggs is much cheaper at least for this year.

Most want him gone, I don't. He's our version of a "shut down corner". Those don't grow on trees. Our defense is/was good with him, so we need him. If Jerry doesn't want to pay him, then trade to some desperate team for as high a draft capital as you can. But this defense needs corners, and he's one of the best, even without the physicality.
You’re a reasonable guy so let me ask you this. It is 2 years later and we have a core group that we’re paying top dollar, which do you orefer

1. QB, CD, Parsons, and Diggs
2. QB, CD, Parsons and elite DT (like Payne)

Can’t pay everyone and build a contender
Im taking 2 esp when I can trade Diggs this year and get a rd 1 pick and get a very very good CB with that pick who may not be “shut down” coverage wise but a comparable CB when you factor in tackling and price

That would be horrible
The whole idea is to get a reasonably good CB cheaper and you that by trading Diggs for a rd 1 pick so you have a cheap good CB for 5 years not an old CB for 1 year

He is getting over $20M per year and will be back with the Cowboys. You can discuss his tackling and whatever else you want as much as you'd like but don't lose track of the fact that it is going to happen

Goodness. If his avoidance of contact is how he plans to play his career, I have no interest in signing him. Got to have folks willing to play all out.
Yep the times he just refused to hit at all was embarrassing

He has un-followed the Cowboys on IG so I'm guessing contract talks have begun on his part. With that in mind what would you pay a corner like him?
I would have given him a market value contract of 15.4 million a year. But once you go into Witch mode, replace the W with a B, I'd trade him. Don't go woman on us. We've seen enough of that on the field. Stop with the silent treatment, the unfollowing, and stuff women usually do. But had he not chosen to take the PMS route, I would have given him a market value contract.

Yeah trade our best corner.

But y’all would want to keep a bum like Prescott and give him all the money in the world
our best corner doesn't mean a good corner. he is a risk and reward type CB, as either he has to go for the interceptions and accept we are going to give up plays because of the risks he takes. or when he tried to be conservative, he didn't get Ints and was average in coverage and tackling. his tackling is the biggest issue as he avoids any sort of contact. he is not tough.

so instead of handing another huge contract to a non-elite player, as you said we did with Dak, then I rather walk away and sign others in FA even if its short term, make a trade or draft. all you have to do is look at eagles and how two years ago they were weak in the secondary and how they addrssed it.

Trade him while you can get a return on him. Can't be afraid to move on from talent and have to be able to keep Parsons. Diggs is not a complete player in the back end. Compensate for his loss by putting monster in the middle of the DL.
