I completely agree. And I think the fact that he apologized shows a degree of humility, though I’m not sure the comment he was referencing was intended as constructive criticism. But whatever the motivation, it was in a moment of high emotion and I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

And while I 100% agree that being humble and open minded are worthy qualities of life for all of us, the personal nature of some of the posts on this site suggests some might want to hold off on throwing stones.

Doesn't matter what context the criticism was in. Hindsight is 20/20. Glad he apologized now let's see if he can get back on the field and be close to what he once was pre big contract, pre injury. I don't know that he will see the football field in 2025. I'm just wondering out loud. I been watching my team since 1973, so yeah, for me , some of this gets very personal. I'm invested in this in my view. I've seen it all in my life . I've seen the dark days for our team in the mid to late 80s early 90s. Then the last 30 years of the rollercoaster where mediocrity is king. Then I seen the goalposts get moved closer every time we come up short. Thus, redefining what success is. It's bizarre. I just wanna win. I want guys who are bought in to the team concept, not the me concept. I'm just wondering if we have enough of those dudes or do we need to purge the team. I think these are legit issues.

I understand what you are saying but you brought up constructive criticism as it relates to being humble and open minded. I simply pointed out that I wasn’t sure the reporters point was intended to be constructive criticism.

But regardless of the motivation, we agree that Diggs showed a momentary lack of composure.

yeah 100% and him arguing with the reporter was not a good look, but i excuse being human. and i have been guilty of bashing the guy for making business decisions, but that's one of the reasons i recall being impressed with him last year because he was doing the opposite the majority of the time and it impressed me.

And he was doing it coming off an ACL tear. Gallup talked about not even being able to trust his leg through the first half of his first season back. I cant imagine wanting to come up and throw your body into a tackle after part of it gave out on you.

It seems to me that some of our fans have a hard time forgiving players for getting hurt, like it is their fault. Diggs was playing like one of the top corners in the league before getting hurt. He was playing well coming back off that injury before getting hurt again. I have trouble holding that against him, even if the rumors about him not doing a great job attacking his rehab are true.

I can understand believing that he's not worth his pay because obviously with the injuries, he hasn't been the last two years, but I don't know why fans concern themselves so much with how much players get paid. If it made a difference in how the Joneses approached free agency, that would be one thing, but we know it's either hold on to our best or do nothing. I prefer to hold on to our best, so that we at least have something to try to build around in the draft.

He didn't miss the tackle, he turned down the tackle. Big difference.

And that wasn't the only time. He routinely does it, and he also doesn't try very hard to get off blocks.

And I'm sorry, but "Deion did it too" isn't an excuse. He's not Deion. (And actually it wasn't okay when Deion did it, either.)

I have watched that play over and over again, and he missed it. He tried to throw a shoulder into the ball that was being bobbled and he missed it. Our fans went ballistic because of what they perceived, not what happened.

It may have been a poor attempt, but that was what he was clearly trying to do.



But I do agree that saying Deion did it isn't a good excuse. There are times when Diggs has not tried hard enough to get off blocks and he needs to do better at that. I don't think it is routinely; that's part of the fan buildup, but even one time a season (which is what he had last year) is just going to add to the belief about him.

Diggs has been a good player for us, when he's healthy. That makes me loyal to him and stand by him while he works hard to get healthy again. He needs to heal before getting back on the field. But seeing him get back is where my loyalty ends. Allow him to rehab and show something on the field then trade him. We have to get something for him which can't happen now.

His knee is bone on bone.

Unless his procedure was misreported, this procedure is done to help so that does not happen. This not a microfracture but a procedure to generate cartilage in an area.
