Right!
And yet fans get uppity when players won’t sign early and take lower contracts!
I couldn't care less about players and their contracts. I care about the Dallas Cowboys and what's in the teams best interest. Diggs could sign for a billion and I won't see a penny of it. Why should I care? I expect no player loyalty. Diggs is a hired gun and would play for anyone who paid him.

I can't even begin to tell you how worried I am about cornerback this offseason.

To me this trumps Head Coach.
Question: How can the Commanders (Sansitril) and Eagles (DeJean & Mitchell) secure young talent at CB, but we can't?.....Carson?.....Booth?

Lol,
I bet the other players care that he’s treated fairly and given and reasonable chance to recover.
And that effects the team!

Every player knows that the contract is only worth what the guaranteed money says it's worth. Furthermore, Diggs didn't impress the staff with his last rehab effort. He has torn 3 knee ligaments. The overwhelming odds are that he's never going to be as good as the player who signed the contract. Keeping him around as an act of goodwill or charity isn't going to motivate one player to sign for a dime less. It's a business. Just ask Dak.

Every player on this team seams to have an immense respect for Diggs. If you don’t think him not at least being given a fair chance to overcome his injury isn’t going to effort player morale you’re delusional!
At minimum you won’t see another willing to take an early deal, under market value any time soon!

Calling me delusional doesn't make your case. This stuff happens all the time in the NFL.

The "early deal" is in the players interest bc it's a hedge against injury. Go figure. It worked out for Diggs. He gets paid the balance of the 42M guaranteed on his contract and the team gets some cap relieve going forward. So, why would it discourage others? If this wasn't a good deal for players, nobody would do it.

If i'm a player, i'd be more pissed off about Jerry screwing Cooper Rush out of 250K.

Lol,
No players get injured all the time. Outside of injury that immediately effect players safety and are career enders they’re given a chance to recover. Exactly how many ACL tears was Lee given a chance to recover!

Not sure he will be ready for the season opener. And if he is, what level can he play at.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cowboys go CB on day 2, maybe with their first pick if the draft falls just right.
Both Diggs and Overshown will start the season on PUP.
Oh, they will spin it all off season long. They plan to be ready for the start of TC. From both the team and players.

Come opening game, they will say they wil be back after the 4 or 6 weeks, or whatever it is now. Only for them not to return until week 12.

It is what this team does.
