He was used by the Niners to get a fourth round draft choice. He must be the phillips head in the Swiss Army knife. It works! Cowboys got screwed.

You must not be aware of the new rule about the 3rd QB on game day.Hard to do since he likely won’t be active unless someone is injured
Unless Dak gets hurt, that's not going to happen. Dak is the man and will never sit out to give a different QB some experience in the regular season. It shouldn’t be difficult for Lance to learn the system. It’s similar to what San Francisco runs. I could see the Cowboys coming up with a few packages to get him on the field this season.
Dak wouldn’t have to get hurt for them to run a package or two with Lance. Use him on some sort of read option play. Teams have been doing it for years. It’s a way to get him on the field this season. Wouldn’t surprise me if we come up with a package for him, assuming he still can run and has the mobility he had prior to the ankle injury.Unless Dak gets hurt, that's not going to happen. Yes, he would. Dak is QB1. Unless injured there is no scenario where another QB on this roster is a better option. This isn't open mic night at the Appolo. For 17 games, every offensive play, the best possible product is to be put on the field. That means your clown idea of a package for a less-than QB isn't happening. You just want so bad for it to be possible that you are fooling yourself that it is. You may not like the reality that I'm telling you but this IS how it is.Dak wouldn’t have to get hurt for them to run a package or two with Lance. Use him on some sort of read option play. You must have totally misread my post or can’t comprehend. Lol I never said Trey Lance was a better option. I’m saying they might bring him in for a play. Teams do it all the time when they have an athletic mobile backup. The Cowboys might come up with a gadget play with him and Vaughn on the field.Yes, he would. Dak is QB1. No misread on my part, I totally understand your premise. It's just wrong. The best option must always be fielded. This isn't "other teams", KJJ. This is Mike McCarthy's offense, so keep that in mind. He would be betraying his own philosophy to put a less than QB on the field when he doesn't have to. Kelen Moore was the play caller who was greenlighting gadget plays. Those days are over. You must have totally misread my post. Lol I never said Trey Lance was a better option. ...because Dak got injured or the game was well at hand which I did stipulate as exceptions. Your point is irrelevant to the discussion.I think I heard Geno Smith was the only NFL QB to take every snap in 2022 . Dak playing 100 % of the O snaps is slim & none .
McCarthy is going to pull out all the stops this season with every playmaker he has, because if the Cowboys take a step back he’s not likely to be back next season. Dak doesn’t run as much or as well as he used to. One thing that made Trey Lance so appealing to San Francisco was his mobility and athleticism. In his one full season as a starter in college he rushed for over 1000 yards. If he can still move the way he did prior to his injury, McCarthy may come up with a play for him. I don’t believe we’re done with gadget plays. We’re going to be using Turpin more as a receiver and we’re going to try and find a way to get Vaughn the ball in space. Jerry is going to want to make this trade for Lance start paying dividends as soon as possible. It may take until our bye week to come up with a play for him, but I believe at some point during the season, they’re going to try a play with him. I like tha idea. Not initially, but when he gets familiar with his teammates and this system, could Lance be the QB you insert quickly to throw the other team off by running RPOs and eventually drop backs when the other team gets worried about the RPO? This would make Rush the emergency QB who is inserted only if Dak goes down. What say you?
The 3rd QB can’t come in to run a gadget playYou must not be aware of the new rule about the 3rd QB on game day.
Unless he’s the backup QB he can’t unless you make him active which means you have one guy less on game day roster. As the emergency QB he can’t just come in and run a play and go back outDak wouldn’t have to get hurt for them to run a package or two with Lance. Use him on some sort of read option play. I don’t know why everybody thinks Lance is this great running QB. He’s about on par with Prescott when it comes to running.
I see you're too stubborn to let go of your bonehead idea. So good luck with that. I'm not arguing my point anymore. We'll see what we see.McCarthy is going to pull out all the stops this season with every playmaker he has, because if the Cowboys take a step back he’s not likely to be back next season. Lance will "see" the field, he just won't play on it this season unless Dak gets hurt.No your point is Lance won’t see the field oh but he will give it time . If he’s effective or not is another story .
