For someone that saw all of his games he sucked at the deep ball, and I always thought he was a wimp. Having said that he was probably the most accurate QB ever.
Like Brady, as long as he wasn't under pressure, he was amazing. Let him get knocked down a few times, he loses his composure.

Thanks for posting this. This was the beginning of the end. Jimmy was the culture because he created it.
Jerry thought 500 guys could coach the Cowboys to a SB. He was wrong then and 28 years later he is still wrong.

It’s his ego which is preventing this organization from success. The only way for it to change is to have fans not show up. We need the Saints behavior of the 80’s
That may lead to an oilers situation lol. I don’t doubt that Jerry would move the team to another city if it meant more money. His loyalty is to the brands, his and the Cowboys. I know that would never happen tho, the place is packed every Sunday or any other day an event is being held there. But…..

Stats never tell the whole story. Aikman made big throws when they were needed in big games, and took command of the huddle.

He also had a great supporting cast, and learned from a HOF coach. Then Jerry decided Jimmy was unnecessary, they squeezed out 1 more title, and the rest is history.

Jerry's success is tied to the Cowboys, he could not do what he is doing without that name. He should have a statue of Jimmy outside of the stadium that he worships every day.
There is no success without Jimmy being there. I am hoping Jerry has done some dumb things that will cause him to sell. I know it's almost impossible but a guy can dream right?
I have zero expectations of this team getting further than it has over the past quarter century. He has refused to do the obvious which is name a real GM and coach.

The media has just moved on. It used to be a great joke when radio guys/ Tv guys would mock Jerry for the GM title. Now everyone accepts it. His team is average, he just wants to be 8-8 and keep cashing in on the Cowboys. This team this league is a golden goose no matter what happens. It's like the laws of business do not matter. There are only 8 home games, there are only a limited amount of TV slots.

I expect to be here next January talking about the same things. We will between 9-11 games, wildcard. Lose in the first or second round. Jerry never actually tries to win a SB, or we would have been in several conference championship games since 1995.
AJ Brown was there for the taking, Roquan Smith was there. The culture is broken. My only hope is Micha, we need a few more of him and then we have a chance to break through the Jerry glass ceiling of the past 28 years.

After the 1994 season, Switzer's first, when the Cowboys lost to the 49ers in the NFC championship game, I nicknamed Switzer "Coach 501".
But then he won the Superbowl the next year.

Also the player made a lot of dumb mistakes to lose that game in 1994 vs the Whiners. The no call on Deon hurt too!

I still wish Jimmy was the coach though!

One of Aikman's best seasons was 1998 at the age of 32 when he no longer had Novacek, Harper, Stepnoski, and Tuinei. Three out of four were Pro Bowlers. His productivity declined at the same time the team's talent level declined, the guys that replace those four were mostly busts like David Lafleur and Clay Shiver or non-productive free agents like Billy Davis and Jeff Ogden.

He lost Irvin, Johnston and Newton in 1999, all three All-Pros. Their replacements were not exactly household names.

By the time Troy Aikman retired in 2000, Emmitt was the only offensive player that had shared three Super Bowl championships with him.

Aikman was never part of the problem, that offense was systematically destroyed by Jerry Jones's failure as a GM to adapt to free agency as well as being a putrid talent evaluator.
Not to mention the damage Troy’s body took in the 3 years leading up to the Super Bowl. The rules were way diffent then for protecting QB’s. The 89 season alone probably shaved multiple years off his career. He said toward the latter part of his career ? He would have to take long hot showers before the game just to loosen up. Pair that with what you wrote above and there it is

Just stop attending.
Too much money invested, they will resale the tickets, someone will go.
Teams already have their money anyway as they must pay for all the games in advance for the season ticket holders.

If. You paid thousands of dollars would you just not go to prove a point, or recoup your cost?

I really think the league needs to intervene. Conduct detrimental to the team.
Whatever some of us maythink
The league thinks Jerry is fantastic….which is why he made the Hall of Fame

This video shows that Aikman coached that last Super Bowl out of them from the huddle and sidelines.

He might have had a calling as a head coach in this league had he chosen that route.

Aikman was a leader and a competitor and the Cowboys have missed that.
Aikman, michael and Emmitt all came up pretty much at the same time so each was a leader in his own right

Troy was the silent assassin that led with coolness under pressure
Michael was the loud, boisterous guy that inspired and fired up both side of the ball into “battle”
Emmitt was the businesslike guy with his lunch pail that the team would play through injury, pain and still deliver the goods. No big ego from that guy

I really had hope that since Dak and Zeke came up together we were gonna see a replay of that scenario but it was not to be. Hard to catch lightning in a bottle.
