Did @America's Cowboy hack your account?
Troy Aikman is saying exactly what I've been saying for years lately. I said 3 years ago that the receiver’s coach needed to be fired. We now see why in what Troy has seen and explained. He even specifically said he has seen such horrible route running and designs by our receivers extending even before this season. It's not my fault most of you fail at seeing at what Troy Aikman and I see what is truly a problem with this offense.

Former Cowboys QB Troy Aikman on @dfwticket on Dallas' wide receivers: "I think the routes are terrible. I think they run terrible routes. And I've thought that beyond this year. I think CeeDee (Lamb) has got to improve in his route running. As a quarterback, if you're not certain where guys are going to be consistently, it's hard to play the position. That's what I see. I see guys lazy coming off the line of scrimmage. Sometimes they run, usually if they do, it's because they're anticipating they're going to get the football on that play, but if they're not, they don't. And it all ties together. I'm not impressed with that part of it."

"I just finished watching the Baltimore Ravens because I have them this week. You put on film of theirs and watch their receivers run routes and they come off the football, so does San Francisco's and Green Bay's and others. But it's hard to play the (QB) position if you're not certain how guys are going to run routes or where they're going to be. And I'm not speaking for Dak (Prescott). Dak may say, 'Hey, I think (their routes) are amazing.' But as a former quarterback watching it, it's gotta get a lot better."

This is what I have been saying in recent years. 3 years ago, I even said the WR coach needed to be fired for these same reasons Troy Aikman just pointed out. Troy even said he also had noticed such horrible route running by our receivers and poor designs by our receiver's coach and O-Coordinator prior to this season. There in lies a huge problem affecting our offense.

or maybe there is some truth to what he is saying. pretty funny how so many former players/QBs come to Dak's defense yet Non-football types claim they are making excuses for them because their eye test supersedes the professionals (because the professional always has an agenda of course /s). When you get metrics to support it (e.g. WR separation), you have to consider the possibility. This does not remove responsibility from Dak who has a lot to cleanup in his game as well. Safe to say there is blame to go around to everyone on this team.
Correct!

Lots of metrics shown in this video towards the end...

Interesting...where have I heard where we have an physically gifted receiver that needs to improve route running. I wasn't a fan of paying CeeDee because of how he's pouted but now add this? Of course this goes back to the culture that Jerry has established there.
I think no matter how great a receiver is there has to be other receiving threats to complement him. Just like any group or corps on our team. One player does not a whole offensive or defensive line effectively make.

So what I am supposed to make of this is that every time Dak tosses a pass 15 feet over a receivers head it was because the receiver ran a bad route. Do I have this right?

Jerry needs to find taller receivers....

No. It means you need to go seek professional help. You can't think straight, plus seriously suffer from DDS.

We’ve been complaining about this for eons. We criticized the routes back with the previous OCs and head coaches. Why are they still bad after all this time?

"Your facts lie!"
"No your facts lie!!"
We get it, information is only good if it lines up with what you want it to line up with...which actually makes facts not useful...Troy knows more than anyone in here about being an NFL QB if you dont like his facts because they dont line up with your casual opinion then look inward for the problem..he has also said Dak made bad throws..he was a reverse Genius/idiot that day i guess..

QB’s are typically not a fan of receivers that don’t get separation. Then add poor route running and you have a recipe for disaster.

Troy could throw the ball to Michael, before he started his break, because Troy had trust in where Michael was going to be.

So a QB can put the ball in tight windows, if you have that type of chemistry or if you are wide open. Unfortunately, more often than not, we have neither.

So the highest paid QB and the 2nd highest paid WR just arent getting it done. Perfect. We have an amazing GM.

Maybe a few more first round OL and a first round RB will fix it. Ah heck, lets add in another first round WR. Second round too.
Ugh.

Here's a metric of "not getting it done" for Dak and Ceedee.
Ceedee's QB Rating When Thrown to: 75.6
I think it's the 3 Ints.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/receiving_advanced.htm

Success% and Catch% way down this year too.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/L/LambCe00.htm

Dak's OnTarget% has collapsed too. 22nd in the league.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/passing_advanced.htm

Sunk all the team's cap into these guys, and right on cue, their performance tanks.

Even Martin is looking mortal this year. And the dropoff from Tyron and Biadasz to Guyton and Beebe has been even worse than expected. At least Steele has bounced back to average from his mediocre play last year.

Too bad Jerry doesn't follow me here. I thought his sabotage of the team was *designed* to deliver a mediocre year for Dak, so that he'd be cheaper next year. And it certainly has delivered on that. Could have saved 25mil this year *and* been free to move on from Dak next year if he hadn't extended him.

This year is giving me end of Landry Era vibes. Expensive old guys getting worse.

And yes Dak also at fault because he stares down the primary receiver, doesn’t go through his progressions, panics, and now hates to run or even scramble to buy some time.
Even when Dak doesn't stare a WR down, he still hesitates to pull the trigger when he picks one, giving the defense a half second to adjust, and then doesn't see it when they do.

I think the diminished oline play is really getting to Dak.
