Does, "Well, I like him a lot" really count as an ENDORSEMENT?
I mean, I like Jason Witten a lot, and Salma Hayek for that matter, but I'm not endorsing either for Cowboys HC.
I don't think he was only talking about Schottenheimer as a personable guy. lol He talks about discussing offensive philosophy with him and how he liked him as a coach with the Seahawks.

I'm guessing since Troy seems to be viewed as the enemy by a lot of people nowadays, this is probably a bad thing.

Well, I like him a lot. I’m familiar with Brian, of course, we go back a little bit, back when he was coaching for his father. He was on the staff with the Chargers, with Hudson Houck. And I had some conversations with him, many years ago, about some offensive philosophy and things of that nature. And, you know, he goes to Seattle. He was the offensive coordinator there. I thought a lot of him when he was with the Seahawks. And then, of course, with Dallas, his role has been a little bit different.

But I like him a lot. Heck of a guy. Been around coaching, of course, his entire life, with his father, Marty. And beyond that, I don’t know that a lot of people know a lot about him. In the last couple of days is when I heard his name being mentioned. That’s probably like most people, and he’s kind of emerged as the dark horse.
At this point it doesn't matter we have to either get over it and ride with him or find another team. What's done is done let's have a great FAree agency and draft

JMO but it was like that before the BS hire and we would be in the same situation no matter the hire.

You guys are hilarious and not in a good way I bet if Troy would have came out and said this was a monkey higher it was terrible you guys would take it as Bible you would literally roll with it as if it came from the only person that mattered but because he said something positive about something you guys don't like you don't particularly care for Brian schottenheimer as our next head coach that now it's just a pat on the back..

Actually from Troy, it is,

Troy doesn't say things about the Cowboys that's ever bias because he played here, he's actually the opposite, he literally is very hard on the Cowboys. he goes out of his way to make sure he doesn't favor the Cowboys when he's talking about anything related to Jerry..

and he's talking about the coaching, not the person, is that hard to understand, that he knows coaching trees, and history of other coaches around the league ,and he's endorsing him as a valid candidate this is not a Dave campo situation like everyone keeps assuming and saying and it's the most ridiculous things I'm hearing about this higher yes the process was horrible it would have been nice to have a bigger name to make a splash but this is not the only person that's endorsed Schottenheimer.

Jerry did not do this on a whim, this was not his plan, this was something he was doing because somebody whispered in his ear you should at least give him an interview and when he got him in the first interview he was impressed enough to make a bunch of phone calls too other head coaches and other coaches that Schottenheimer's work next to and around his bosses his counterparts and they all gave him an endorsement, that this guy has the makeup to be a head coach..
Literally Pete Carroll and others have come out and said this let alone the fact that he's liked in the locker room by the core players this is not something that's controversial like they think it's a knee jerk reaction hire..etc

.. I know this that second interview happened because Jerry did his research and wanted to hear more..

technically we all know this if Kellen Moore wasn't still coaching in the playoffs, he would probably be the head coach here right now he was Jerry's favorite from the beginning but because of his situation that he couldn't do it in person interviews i.e not available,

it left this open where Jerry was just like OK well I'll just get Brian Schottenheimer an interview while waiting on KM ,and it took off from there..

this was literally never the plan,

I believe he was thinking about keeping Brian schottenheimer as OC and I also believe that other people can have their own opinions the reason Mike McCarthy wouldn't come to an agreement with Jerry was this Jerry wanted a new coaching staff as far as the play calling and the schemes..... Mike McCarthy didn't want it and I'm betting part of the package was hey if you're going to come back and we're going to bring back the entire group, we want Brian schottheimer to be the real offensive coordinator ,and the play caller, and that didn't sit well with mike's ego, why we are where we're at right now.

Shotty seems like a nice guy, but we really needed a major shake up like Belichick.
Someone who would stand up to Jerry and set a different cultural standard of discipline.

well in my opinion that's how it should have been from the beginning I mean we don't have a choice in the matter and I know we wanted a bigger splash but my take on this is every first time head coach coming from a place where they had all the advantages and benefits from a all in roster a loaded team and that includes the coaching staff support system they're all leaving that behind they don't get all that wherever they're going they're all in the same situation as schottenheimer they're all gonna have to prove themselves first time head coaches don't have a good track record in the NFL and some of the biggest names that came from college failed in the NFL and they failed fast they failed in their first year so all these coaches have a big question mark on them so they can put an* by Brian schonheimer until we get to see actual games but I'm interested in this get the draft done get free agency done get into some of these mini camps and the training camps and the practices and we can get feedback on how that's going but really it's gonna take preseason games and real games to start to see what he looks like as a head coach and how he assembled the team how he plans on calling plays we haven't even seen his full staff yet and everybody's up in arms about everything...

Nobody's blown away by this hire nobody's really truly happy about it but you have to embrace it it literally needs to just be a wait and see and in the end if this was a totally a huge mistake then we'll get to talk about it but Mike McCarthy and we can go to Dan Campbell but just staying with the Cowboys was not embraced here nobody liked that higher from the beginning and it turns out that he was the best coaching hire of 2020 not even close there isn't a close second his success here was better than any of the other coaches that were hired the same time a lot of you guys wanted those guys you said anybody but McCarthy you wanted Rivera I remember this but we were wrong about that it turns out he was a pretty damn good coach when he didn't have a bunch of injuries I didn't like him as an OC but as a head coach but people did not understand the Detroit Lions hiring of Dan Campbell either and all the people he brought on board those were no names his staff was literally unknown for ....art and that kind of worked out in it?

I mean right now Dan Campbell's doing the same thing I don't know any of those new coaches he just put in place for the two hot coaches that just left does that mean he's gonna struggle and the lions are not gonna make the playoffs next year because they just lost two of the best alleged best coordinators in the league and now they have to fill them in and they fill them in with people I've never heard of... That includes the other teams that lost good coordinators some of the people they hired in their place I've never heard of I mean isn't that the same situation it's always gonna be embrace it and then let's just see the results and then we can discuss the results..

You dirty dog, Hayek and Witten? I guess whatever floats your boat. As long as no one gets hurt.

Jimmy Johnson on Fox said that Dallas needed to hire Shotty as HC and glowingly endorsed the idea well before we heard a peep from the team about it. Tells me that Jerry talked to Troy AND Jimmy. I just hope they are correct. I like the staff being assembled too.

Where is the “endorsement “?
