Not every qb can be the most spoiled qb to ever play in the nfl like aikman. Love aikman but damn. Let's get real here. He was good. Top 4 dallas qb.

I don't know. I'm looking forward to seeing them play. Some of the talent we lost also is some of the immaturity we lost. Speaking specifically of Collins and Gregory. The biggest question in my mind is why were we so tense in the playoffs and how could our super bowl winning coach not have us prepared? That question will only be answered if we play in the playoffs. We ended the season acting pretty immature on and off the field. I was hoping and counting on our veteran super bowl winning coach to have those specific issues handled.

So we'll see. I wonder is our maturity issues the owner/GM fault, ala culture; poor coaching or we just can't play with the bad boys. This will be a fun year to see it play out. Lol, well hopefully fun to watch.
It will certainly be entertaining, that's for sure.
You did not mention penalties when you were listing
Issues this team had last year.
Big big problem

And Troy Aikman agrees.

“I don’t feel this team is as good as it was a year ago,” the three-time Super Bowl champ said Thursday of his former club during a call-in with The Ticket KTCK 96.7 FM/1310 AM. “It doesn’t mean that they’re not talented enough to go on and do all the things that they want to do, because I think that they are. I think they’re one of those teams that, as you look at the landscape of the NFL and certainly the NFC, you feel the Cowboys have as good a chance as any of them. So we’ll see how it goes.”

“Even though last year they lost that game,” Aikman said, “I think everybody came out of that game going, ‘Wow, this team has a chance to be pretty good.’ I know I was impressed with what I saw. I’m hopeful that they go out and play at the level that they’re capable of, and if they do that, then I think Tampa has their issues as well. I think they can get off to a really great start.”

If last year's Cowboys were a 7.5 on a scale of 10, I have to say they are a 7.0 today.

Yes we will have different starters from last year.. but some of the replacements will be clear upgrades. Hooker will be better than Kazee.. Barr will be better than Jaylon. Fowler/Armstrong/Williams will be better than Gregory/Armstrong/Golston. The DT rotation that started out with Watkins, Urban, Bohanna, and Osa will now start with Gallimore, Hill, Bohanna, and Osa. That unit will be MUCH stronger IMHO. Tyler Smith will be better than Connor Williams. Though he will not be as good as Tyron Smith any time soon. Some of these youngsters might not get the memo that they're not supposed to be as good as the guys they replaced. Then there are guys who stayed put who will simply be better with experience.. Cox, Mukuamu, Biadasz, McGovern, ... I guess I'm a glass half full kinda guy.. who also will never equate a "name" with talent. Lots of guys we never heard of come in and take the league by storm every year. This year will be no different.

I think you are yodeling past the salvage yard.

We lost several starters from last year.
We certainly have a less talented team.

It was inevitable.

We had some key role players on cheap contracts in their contract years. Either we were going to lose them, or pay more for them, but either way we get worse.

I'll give them credit for getting great deals on Brown and LVE.
But we were going to lose talent, and we did.

Now, going into the season, we're talking up guys like Bohanna as starters. He was awful last year.

The Cowboys will be worse on offense and better on defense. We lost too many valuable WRs on offense to be as good. We gained enough overall talent on defense to improve. Our special teams' performance will be far better. Overall, this team may fare better than most of us expected (I hope.)

The Cowboys had plenty of talent to go far last year. But for some reason this offense can't make a play when they need to. They tend to go 3 and out or get one or two first downs and than go 3 and out. Last season the 49ERS drove down the field and scored and the absolute last thing the Cowboys needed was Prescott going 3 and out. Set the tone for the whole game.

As good a chance as any is his go to catch phrase. I think it's his way of saying there is a 1 in 32 chance of any team going to the Super Bowl.

For any team, any year the ones that have minimal injuries are typically the ones that go far and do well. Teams can compensate if they have good depth, but like the Chiefs a couple of years ago, it will eventually bite you in the derriere. Dallas is no exception. Have the bulk of your players stay as healthy as possible, get some continuity, sprinkle in some luck and the Cowboys do have a shot at a ring.

But only a shot, not one of the favorites....

Fans need to stop weeping over Cooper. CeeDee outplayed him last season anyways. Dallas's young new WR's will show up. Moore has plenty of weapons for his playbook yet once again.

If someone asked him about Bohanna, would he know his position without looking at a roster?

All NFL players and coaches are experts. How do they ever lose a game?

Don't get mad at me. I already said I trust the people at the zone more then I do some buffoon named Troy Aikman. He probably doesn't even know who Jerry Jones is. Just some talking head on TV imo.

I agree. If Troy didn't attend any practices then I'm going to stick with the knowledge of the fine posters at the zone. Most of them are head and shoulders above Troy's football mind. Sorry Troy.
You can’t be serious.

We lost Cooper and Wilson. Collins was not even playing and Gregory whole 6 sacks on the season can be replaced.
That's an optimistic view, but it could play out that way.
Hopefully none of them will be missed.
We are certainly thin at WR.
