News: Troy Aikman would take Tony Romo over remaining playoff QBs

The qualifier is "right now". Rodgers is hurt. Troy knows this.

But ... but ... but ... Troy goes out of his way to be negative about the Cowboys.

He does.

But as I have seen a lot of the announcers handicapping the game..

I repeatedly see the former QBs consistently saying Romo has become the dominate killer QB of the remaining guys playing.

Jaws, Steve Young, Phil Sims and others give Romo the nod as being the lead QB at this point in the season.

They would know who is doing the best and why.

Add Troy to that list I guess.

I agree. Regardless how Sunday turns out..

Without Romo..we are nowhere.

So let's see what happens.

Aikman on local radio shows, and his normal Thursday morning spot on The Ticket is usually pro Cowboys.
He will be critical, if he believes is deserved. But he says good things. Not over the top but just wish he was more like that on his announcing. But you can tell he is still a Dallas Cowboy.

Really shows how he goes out of his way to show he's not biased. If he were to be himself, though he probably claims he is, he would come across as a much better announcer.

Aikman has always been a Romo supporter. He said years ago that he expects Romo to win multiple Super Bowls, because he's a good enough QB to do it. Obviously that was Troy using his own experience as the Cowboys QB and projecting that onto Tony because he expected them to have similar circumstances. It hadn't quite worked out that way until this season, but now Tony has a chance to prove Troy right.

Guarantee the only quarterback he praises tomorrow during the broadcast is Rogers.

I can hear it already

"Now aaron rodgers is injured and I had a similar injury. There is no way you make that throw unless you're the best in the league."

and

"Now Tony Romo just fails to read the defense correctly before the snap and theres just no excuse for a veteran QB to make that mistake there"

Wow. Considering some of the QBs still in the playoffs it's a bit of a surprise to hear anyone say that.

Romo has never gotten his due, but you've got some pretty playoff savvy QBs on the list.

That's why I'm not buying it.
