Broncos Head Coach hit the nail on the head before the game even started. "They're easy to scout"
He really said that?

Well, that is scary. Mainly because we have heard this exact thing about Garrett's offenses for a very long time.

There's only 5 o-linemen, Denver was bringing 7-9 on most plays. We had no solution in the air...

I think a lot of people have treated the offensive line like it was for sure going to be a dominant unit after changing 2 of the 5 players in the offseason.

To beat that team with the run you have to be prepared to lose with the run. We brought no such challenge. We had 5 carries for 4 yards and went pass heavy from there on out.

Yes...we lost in the trenches on both sides of the ball. On offense, we continued to force the ball to Dez and ignored the short quick routes that got us to 13-3 last year. My main issue on offense was the lack of play-action plays. I know a lot on this board would say if the running game isn't working then play-action is worthless, but this is the Cowboys we're talking about. We run on 1st down, we run on 3rd and long, and we run until we get it right. We have that reputation, so play-action will and does work for us. We sat back there with empty backfields and then completely gave up on play-action. I don't even remember any play-action plays yesterday, but I am sure there were some. Linehan has this issue with many games, and most of them the offense is having issues moving the ball. I think it cost us yesterday.

9 or 8 in the box dictates pass. That is what never got going. If it had, more opportunities to run the ball.

Offensive line wasn't great, but until the passing game does damage over the top it's going to become increasingly difficult. Teams will play 8, or even 9, in the box to take away the runs and dump offs until the Boys start burning them deep.
