It comes down to injuries, and what kind of job Wade and Garrett do. We have the talent to win the division. So do Philly and NY. The Skins could even get it together... nah.

I see 12-4 and I hardly call that rose colored. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just figure that with us members here that read all this Cowboy information and know more about the team than most media members, that a 9-7 seems pretty low.

And just because we didn't bring any big names in doesnt mean we didnt upgrade. Players improve, especially a rookie draft class that is one of the best that we've had in 15 years.

Sensabaugh allows us to do much more on defense, and in our pressure defense that can reap huge benefits. I would say we improved there if Spencer can do his job.

Also, not trying to force balls down the field for big plays, and instead utilizing our unique talent set on offense to be more efficient is going to be an upgrade IMO. Romo might not pass for 4000-some yards and 36 TD's like he did in 07, but I bet he has a better completion percentage, QB rating, and less picks/fumbles.

It's right before the season so the optimism is high, but I think it is optimism that can be justified.

Name the last rookie draft class that came in year one and significantly improved their team enough to get it over a proverbial hump that has plagued said team for years. Reality please... There's nothing wrong with being optimistic. I'm excited to see Witten and Bennett both on the field at the same time. I'm excited to see our young three headed RB monster racking up real estate. I'm excited to see the infusion of talent on the defensive side of the ball and Wade finally conceding and realizing he must focus on the defense or exist stage left. I'm excited about the prospect of having a healthy offensive line for all 16 games. These things all excited me to no end. Then reality brings me back down to the stratosphere... Our Oline has no depth. Our head coach is a glorified DC. Our defense is still a work in progress. Spencer has still yet to show that he can take it on this level for 16 games and actually dish some of it back out. We face the prospect of yet another year with a yawner at PR (Crayton). I can go on...

This team is being asked to undergo a huge shift in philosophy.. especially on the offensive side of the ball. Only regular season weeks will tell if people like Red are up to the challenge. As I stated before, I'm hopeful but I won't be posting any Super Bowl predictions this year. You feel free to go right ahead and take up that slack.

Ok.. let's go back another year. Now tell me when anyone in that four you just named has propelled us to the playoffs and beyond? The potential is there. Absolutely. That said, the potential has been there for this team to get to the Super Bowl for the past 5 years. Screw potential. Show and prove.

But the point renains there is absolutely room for improvement. Ill take Felix, Marty, Hurd, Scandrick, Jenkins, Sebsabaugh, Kosier etc. over that aging deep threat that was afraid to take a hit

I'm not sure where you're going with this but my line of thought has nothing to do with that aging deep threat that's no longer a Cowboy... He contributed immensely to the circus atmosphere and lack of focus on the field. He hasn't been here for over 13 years though. That said, if this is about to digress into another TO discussion I will gladly let you speak to yourself from here on out...
