It should get as much attention as the Falcons-noise situation, the Jets-tampering with a player on another team and the Vikings-tampering with footballs on the sidelines has gotten. In other words, an article or two and then we move on with our lives.

You love to self righteously, sanctimoniously pontificate about fairness, competitive balance and integrity of the game.... but if you were to ever once be honest (which no one here is expecting), you would have to admit that holding one franchise to a standard of conduct ridiculously above and beyond the standard held to the 31 other franchises is not something that helps fairness, competitive balance and integrity of the game.

The Vikings got caught red-handed illegally tampering with footballs to make them easier to grip and handle and they got a letter of warning. The Patriots were accused of illegally tampering with footballs to make them easier to grip and handle and they've gotten a 2-month investigation, national headlines, and a major distraction to deal with during the lead in to the most important game of the season.

Oh and wait a second... when told the Patriots won the game, you know, by 38 points, didn't you haters lecture us all on the notion that it doesn't matter whether or not it helped them win? So why the hypocritical emphasis on one team while ignoring all the others?

You don't seem at all confident that the team that you follow aren't anything more than recidivist cheaters, however successful.

I heard it on the radio so I am not sure I heard the whole thing.

He was somewhere & had a car accident. He was driving but got out of the car & took off. His girl slide over to the driver's seat & told the police she was driving.

I think it was found out Lance was driving. Maybe an eye witness reported him. I think he had been drinking & he hit parked cars.

Moved on to a different "PED" after losing all his endorsements... Can't say I feel sorry for this guy. I saw the Lance Armstrong story on cable, can't remember the exact name, but watching that I really disliked him. These type of cheats never give up and can't even openly admit, after getting caught, a straight answer.

Yeah I cheated, and it's hard to compete knowing what goes on, and I tore people down which I shouldn't have.

No, the guy just keeps acting like he's innocent and given long-winded explanations.

I read his book about his cancer & all that & felt like he was a great guy.
He really disappointed me.

Wait till you read about his "charity". It was all essentially a way to push his brand. They gave only a small percentage to research and then essentially none, and they defined themselves as a charity that provides an outlet. Essentially they published pretty pamphlets, had those nice little yellow bands, and provided call center help to tell you where you can go.

There was some really well known investigative piece in a magazine that documented it, I think a year or two before his fall from grace. I believe the author was even bashed a lot for it, when he first published the piece.

Armstrong is just low.

I'm not one to fawn over athletes (JJ Watt being an exception :p) but I believed in Lance & thought how heroic..he conquered cancer..was a terrific athlete...& then that house of cards fell apart.

It is a slap in the face to know he cheated & wasn't such a great person after all. And now this. Shame on him!

I am 100% confident that no team in professional or top division college sports could stand up to the scrutiny placed on New England the past 2+ weeks.

i'm more impressed with the Cowboys org/brand standing up to all the massive hate and ridicule while being irrelevant in the post season/mediocre for 18yrs with an iron fist owner (and on very small occasions making it past the wildcard) while having as many hardcore followers/lovers as they do. no other team has such lasting brand power. but maybe since the patriots have built a winning org (like the Cowboys used to have) and maybe when they start loosing or being completely irrelevant in the post season (when perhaps belicheck and or brady exist) they will have lasting power with fans and haters and fans wont start bailing out because they aren't winning anymore. we will see.

its easy to be a fan of a winning team/org shows much more fortitude and dedication from fans when they aren't winning.

People like belicheat, tom shady, and robber kraft will always cheat because the consequences after getting caught don't outweigh the benefit of getting away with it. As long as foolish people, sheeple, and people with power influence defend their actions they will continue their nefarious ways even if it compromises the institution they claim to love.
