The Minnesota Vikings have given wide receiver Troy Williamson the opportunity to shop himself in a trade, and there appears to be a lot of interest.

According to Williamson's agent, David Canter, 14 teams have been contacted, and eight have shown interest enough to reach out to the Vikings about a possible trade. Canter would like to have a trade agreed upon before Feb. 28, the start of the free agency period.

"He's property of the Minnesota Vikings right now and he's under contract," Vikings coach Brad Childress said. "We have spoken to his agent and he has the opportunity to go out [and seek a trade]."

Williamson was the seventh pick in the 2005 draft and went to Minnesota as part of the Randy Moss trade with the Oakland Raiders. He's had three receivers coaches and two head coaches in three seasons with the Vikings. He had 18 catches in 11 games last season.

I'd give a 6th for him. ;)

I posted that I'd give Carpenter for him (if that's financially plausible). It would allow two disappointing first rounders a chance to resurrect their careers and it would also let both franchises 'save face'.

But that idea went over like a lead balloon as I recall.....

Troy Williamson seriously can't catch. We'd have more success moving Carpenter to WR than playing Williamson there.

Wrap a contract around the football and if he can catch it, he can sign it. That is, after he catches the football with the pen attached.

Between him and a kick in the shins, I think I'd prefer the kick in the shins.

Nope in Atlanta. There is a bar here that has 1/3 steelers, 1/3 vikings 1/3 mixed following. Im usually there with 3-4 fellow cowboys fans, and there are NEVER falcons fans haha. Fairweather fans annoy me.
