The Coen brothers are remaking True Grit. I heard some guys talking about it on the radio today and how they are scheduled to start filming outside of Austin in the spring.. It will star Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn and co-star Josh Brolin and Matt Damon. I know there are a lot of John Wayne fans on this board.

It is similar with sequels. Rooster Cogburn(1975) was not as good as True Grit(1969).

The Coen brothers movies all seem like comedies to me even if it is some dark comedy at times.

People are making a big mistake by trying to recapture the Duke's character in anything .... especially the great Rooster Cogburn.

I don't have an emotional attachment to the old film so agree with you. I've yet to see something from the Coens that wasn't extremely well done.
