Rick Gosselin ‏@RickGosselinDMN I wish Mike Pereira was this candid about the officiating when he was the NFL's supervisor of officials.

Not a Goose fan but he speaks truth here. Refs Union better settle or they may go the way of the Air Traffic Controllers Union.

There were 6 teams that had double digit penalties in games this weekend.

Pereira was being paid by the NFL then. Now he's not.

It's more a commentary on the lack of accountability on the refs and less about Periera personally.

Goodell will win this battle. IF the refs were to ever come back, it would be next year at the earliest. I think they are gonna give these replacements a full year...this is his experiment.

and that is different from regular refs how?

The refs are clearly getting better in my opinion, and I for one think there are a lot of things they do that is better then the other refs. I think they are much more consistent on when they call holding and they let em play a bit in the secondary. Maybe it was just the games I watched yesterday but i thought they were decent. I also believe they have less bias then the original refs. The truth is they have come a really long way in 5 weeks and will continue to improve as they learn the differences in the pro and games they were calling and they weed out the ones who just cant cut it.
