How many of those yards were to the outside? oh and that's Damone's specialty, or should we just have given up on him as well and signed Roquin Smith for a 2nd, 5th ++ all for a couple of months.
great point. Every year, what do we see? The teams that go far are the teams that have a good line and dline, without fail. They impose their will in the trenches. Football has always been that way...PHYSICALITY up front. Can't win without it. Thats why we did the Hankins deal. He gives us that element and helps the youngsters like big Bo and OSA,Neville. That 1 move helped the entire front 7. Free's them u and allows the linebackers to better fill.My hunch is he can teach the guys how to be better as well. Gives us another vet presence Lastly, look at the famed legion of boom in Seattle in the day. They get the hoopla, but really what heled them was the dline. They were big nasty, physical with Michael Bennett, Red Bryant etc. Then San Fran last year.We are trying to do the same here with DQ.It was a smart trade. Much needed.Yep, and the biggest outcry is from the element of the fanbase that thinks football starts with the QB and DE and doesnt appreciate what and how the influence of the trenches.
You want them to overpay for a #2 receiver who is making 18 million a season in 2023?Every single team who is contention, and some not, made moves. But the cowboys and all its infinite wisdom, stayed pat.
Awful
Disagree with you here. If a long term deal could have been worked out with Smith a 2nd and a 5th for him would have been a good deal. Team him up with Clark next season as the 2 ILBS
On Sunday Dak went back to what he's comfortable doing, using his whole receiving corp, especially TE's. I always feels he's more comfortable having the dial out play to a receiver he trusts (as opposed to the play designed receiver).
With Dak (IMHO) I think an out and out no.1 WR (or costly receiver) is a waste.
...yep so many fans that see LVE (or other LB'S) blocked by some 310 O-linesman who's getting into the 2nd level ....and claim the issue is at LB.great point. Every year, what do we see? I agree, but my comment is about Smith
Oh yea, soz, ....problem with Smith is that we've got Micah, Damone, possibly Cox and we like our hybrid SS packages. That's a lot of capital spent on the LB corp.
A lot of our LB problem is the fact that LVE and Barr are getting manhandled by O-line. Hence Hankins. there to stop that and allow the vets to play.
For a team with plenty of CAP and an overriding need at LB then Smith is a great get.....just not us.
Dude was in the building for like 74 hours, let the man acclimated to the team and scheme firstWell it hasn't improved yet.
The defense did give up 240 rushing yards against the Bears.
Do your homework.
The Cowboys would have had to give up their 1st round pick to beat what the Bears gave up for Claypool. Are you out of your mind? Why would the Cowboys trade draft capital for Smith when they just added Clark at linebacker and still have Barr. Smith will be a free agent.Don't play dumb guy. Chase Claypool, Rowan Smith were there to be traded for, but we weren't interested. Either would have helped the team. So there you go.
QUOTE="Runwildboys, post: 12253739, member: 39158"]What would you have been willing to give up for them?
I really don't see Claypool making a big difference...at least not worth that price. Besides, we're just now seeing the offense with Dak under center and Moore seemingly more willing to call running plays, so we aren't even sure we need to bolster the WR position. If we do, maybe they'll go get ODB...I mean OBJ.[/QUOTE]Whatever. If it's an overpay, so be it. You have a potential legendary defense, but you are also in a very tight division. If I had to send. 2nd and another pick for Claypool, fine. Of it's a 2nd a 5th and a player for Smith, I don't look back. Jerry said he is a gambler. Maybe Stephen not so much?
They did nothing to help this club.......................NOTHING! The only way they can help this club is sign someone who is sitting at home....................Every single team who is contention, and some not, made moves. But the cowboys and all its infinite wisdom, stayed pat.
Awful
