I know what you mean, but the Cowboys do this every year. If you were expecting something more than trivial, then you haven't been paying attention.

The Cowboys standard operating procedure doesn't change much from year to year beyond a tweak here and there. What you saw last off season, that's what you'll see next off session. It doesn't matter who we lost, or whether or not we're in contention. It doesn't matter if we went 4-13 or 13-4. Same SOP.

It's pretty much the conservative approach.

Exactly. I can't believe we brought Hankins in. Our usual approach is do nothing from FA throughout the season, so at least they did something.

Don't play dumb guy. Chase Claypool, Rowan Smith were there to be traded for, but we weren't interested. Either would have helped the team. So there you go.

Are you dumb? The bears 2 was higher than ours. Why would Pitt take take ours over their 2nd. Roquan is in a contract year and wants huge money next year. Renting him for a 2nd is stupid. You're not playing dumb, you're being dumb

They traded a qb to a desperate team with a coach that had experience with qb.
Yes, you’re right, the Eagles took advantage of a team and received a first rounder.

They also flipped multiple picks and got another first rounder from the Saints.

I’m not sure how this proves you only lose in a trade.

It called having the team to take advantage of. The eagles was fortunate the Colts was in a desperate situation

Right, so I agree, the difference here is an example of an opportunistic FO (Philly) and an unopportunistic one (Dal)

Every single team who is contention, and some not, made moves. But the cowboys and all its infinite wisdom, stayed pat.

Awful
And Jerry says he will do anything to get to the Super Bowl..ŕeally!!! Cowboys fan can't tell..I guess Jerry meant to say he will do NOTHING to get to the SB.

Clearly we are having success developing players and upgrading our team primarily through drafting. That is also how McCarthy wants it. So why would you trade potentially quality early round picks or cornerstone players. In reality the only thing we had to offer were some mediocre, expendable players.

Hankins??? We improved our biggest weakness, run defense. Some fans just want names and ANY move because it gives them a fleeting feeling of satisfaction ...its this instant gratification of the modern world.

I suspect we would overpay. Eagles I never think do. I think a 2nd for Cooks plus his contract (which they were trying to sort out) would have been a slight overpay for me.

Slight???? he's receiving at a 60.4% rate. Giving up a 2nd+ and using up our CAP, when Dak is doing what Dak do....hitting his 3 TE's.

Are we a 1 receiver away....no and for that price it's spending for spending sake.

Well it hasn't improved yet.

The defense did give up 240 rushing yards against the Bears.

How many of those yards were to the outside? oh and that's Damone's specialty, or should we just have given up on him as well and signed Roquin Smith for a 2nd, 5th ++ all for a couple of months.

we have a **** ton of guys 2 get signed next offseason. I see why we are doing it this way. But getting Hankins was a much more significant trade than u all think. This guy is big nasty run stuffer that gets tons of snaps.Gives us more girth inside. I like what we did at the deadline.

Yep, and the biggest outcry is from the element of the fanbase that thinks football starts with the QB and DE and doesnt appreciate what and how the influence of the trenches.

Yes, going off this season. Before this season a 2nd would have been fair, but he actually seems to have regressed this year. The CAP hit would have been too much, strange deal he signed with Texans
