Antoine Winfield Jr is a free safety, not a strong safety. Cowboys need a playmaking, hard hitting strong safety who can also cover. Winfield Jr is not that. Plus, he's too short at 5'10".

2nd Round: Antoine Winfield Jr. is a true playmaker at safety that Dallas has been missing, he's a ballhawk and he can lay the wood (pause).

I actually looked at two Mocks last week that had Antoine Winfield Jr at the end of first round

Going by where I see Winfield he'll definitely be there in the 2nd round. But you never know what will happen between now and then.

That would not surprise me... I hope he's there in the 2nd round though.

Id like to address safety in Free Agency..

NFL safeties are all similar.. Very few noticeable difference makers in the NFL playing that position.

If something pops up in the draft then by all means select the guy but I’d rather draft difference makers with my early picks.

I hate that we didn’t try to go get Minkah Fitzpatrick. That’s the type of guy we needed and the Dolphins failed him so badly that other teams besides the Steelers were afraid to get involved.

I recall reading a comment from SJones at the time of the trade that they tried. Obviously were outbid.

Pittsburgh paid a very steep price....a first just after you lose your QB for the season. A serious head scratcher of a move and even if Dallas offered their 1st Miami had to take the offer they took.

That said, yes on Fitzpatrick being what's needed.

I agree w you that we need a FA safety. Cant count on Delpit or McKinney to be the type we need back there, especially right away.

I have a feeling it's going to get ignored again. Who would you want btw?
