Truth Serum

We hope. Previous FA signings were all expected to help us get over the hump. Last years FA haul was a huge administrative disaster.
You never can tell. But a quick analysis of our signings tells me we got better. How much better? No way to know until real bullets start flying. The Fleming signing...and the Fullback will prove to be BIG.

so your disappointed why am I not surprised
Apparently you must be too busy trolling that you have me confused with someone else, why am I not surprised?

First of all, if you actually took the time to read the post you qouted you may realize that I was talking about the general over reaction on this site, not my personal thoughts. If you want my personal thoughts you would have had to kept reading on but I’m sure you’re too busy cherry picking and making broad generalizations based on a handful of others comments to actually read the entire thread.

Troll on monkey.

Let me apologize I was incorrect

Did Garrett also get fired? No? None of these signings are going to make our record any better.

Be honest here.... How many of you expected the Cowboys to have this many free agents of this caliber this year?

I know I didn't. Some of these guys should actually be really good signings at good value. Might be the opposite of the dumpster diving we did last year.
This is providing the staff uses them. Would love to see some new pass plays installed. Get the O-Line shored up and healthy so Dak has a chance. Our young secondary will improve. If we get a starting DT that can push the middle we will have a good Defense. Needing some help at LB and we are set.

Apology accepted :)

Normally we actually see eye to eye. I really do think I’ve been more optimistic than most about our future over the past year or so and continue to be optimistic but I admittedly have a smidge more concern than I did last year. I already want to get the season started to alleve some of those concerns, lol.

I sincerely apologize as well, should have never called you a troll. I’ve been known to over react ;)

As the Wolf said in Pulp Fiction..."Let's not suck our ****s just yet."
We have to wait and see if we use our new talent wisely.

Meh, same as every year and every draft. Over reaction all the way around. We don’t sign anyone, we have the worst FO in the NFL. We do sign some guys and we’re going to the Super Bowl.

The draft is no different. Almost everyone we sign is a stud until half way through the season and the FO sucks, we didn’t draft well, etc.

Same ole, same ole.

20 years drought in super bowl wins tells you how incompetent our FO has been. They normally overpay for our own players (Dez, Crawford) and gamble too much with our draft picks always trying to find diamonds in the rough rather than taking the sure thing.

I mean it would be almost impossible to do what we did last year in FA. That was so unbelievably bad I thought it will occur anytime soon.

Actually aria you calling me out made me step back and take a look at my posting patterns and I do sometimes
go on auto react. So glad we're good.

I did.

The last few years they entered the draft not desperate for any players. Be able to select BPA really improves the team at a faster and deeper rate than try to build a team through free agencies.
this!!
People are pretending this hasn't been the M.O. the last 3 years and are just lying to themselves.

Dallas whiffed badly on some of these tier 2 and tier 3 guys in the past but they once again have filled the roster with NFL bodies while allowing a true draft board.
Dallas may whiff again but they were always going to basically ignore that first wave of free agency and fill holes.

As we start seeing the actual contracts we now know why they waited. These guys are all great values.
If they need to be cut Dallas can just walk away with minimal dead money.

Dallas has a top 5 front office. People that disagree can @ their moms.

I have my reservations about the fullback impact because it's such a forgotten position throughout the NFL. I screamed for more fullback lead plays last season , especially on 3rd down. But alas , we usually throw in those critical situations. Dam you OC!!!

Linehan sometimes makes me scratch my head...like when we have those red zone plays where its 2nd and 1..then we pass 2 times in a row. Its bizarre. He had 2 games like this last year..LOST BOTH OF THEM. He has to get back on track & stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

Linehan threw a ton when he was in Detroit. Then and now, the Lions are almost last in running the ball. Zeke surges and moves the pile when he runs. It's foolish to NOT run him in short yardage situations. I stick to my belief that this coaching staff is distracted with their I phones during film study. The good the bad and all this teams tendencies are on tape. But you gotta watch and adapt for it to matter.

This honestly is what I expected, for the most part.
Btw, these aren't genius moves or anything.
But they do show some applied rationality to the whole FA process, preceding the draft.

Remember the draft is still to come, so athough the majority of what we have done is on offense, we may now be able to focus more of the draft on defense.
I agree with this statement, but you guys have to be honest with yourselves. Every year we go through this same stuff and the result is the same. I have GOOD reason to be skeptical.
