We literally say that every year after the last game.

It is the only way to hurt him. Nothing would hurt his ego more than a half full Stadium. It's what we need to do.

No way in hell am I spending my hard-earned money to go watch this ****. If he had a regular Stadium it would be half full. Nobody would go to that crap. He knows with a nice Stadium it will always attract fans, no matter the record.
They almost reeled me back in when they cut LB #9 and gave Pollard more carries, those were competent coaching moves earlier in the season. But when Connor Williams wasn't replaced by the trade deadline and they refused to properly utilize Pollard in the running game I knew it was back to the status quo of dumb & dumber (GM & Vice President).

You only need to look up his hof description where it says gm, to know nothing will change until he is incapacitated. Like others said, his only real goal is validation he can win by being the driver. Winning any other way is pointless to him.

After the game he said it was disappointing because of the talent on the team. because that means the gm , him, did a good job.

He ignores that the ol/dl got whooped by better players.

Having said that I'm like blueblood, I'm resigned to the fact the cowboys don't have a chance of a super bowl because of jj and just enjoy the ride and hype of the regular season, week to week, as a form of entertainment not caring if the win or lose.

Lastly, not as a resident of dallas, I'm glad cities don't capitulate to these owners on stadium s its been shown they are not good deals for the residents.

. There is a mass psychosis that has happened to the Cowboys fanbase over the past quarter century. The late 80's I understand, those were Tom Landry's last days. The Bears, SF, & NFC east were just better. Pelluer, Hogeboom, White, aging team. They needed a hard reset and Jimmy is the one to come in a flip over the table and start from scratch.

Jerry has done a great job of capturing a good part of the fanbase under his Stockholm syndrome. How can anyone call us Americas team? What have we done over the past quarter century to justify that? Romo, Dak, Ware, memorable playoff collapses? We have not even made a championship game since January 1996, when the world was till pushing AOL, Windows 1995 commercials with the rolling stones, OS2 Warp IBM ads.

This is a disgrace of an organization, the only thing different from the Lions or the WFT is really the logo and history. This is a failed organization, most of you will disagree with me. Jerry does not care bout winning another Super Bowl. He has three SB's, he is a HOF'r, he has nothing to prove. He doesn't care about paying, Dak, Zeke, Romo, Cooper, Ware, Tank, Witten, you name the player. There is so much cashflow with the Cowboys he has to spend it. It's like you and I going to get milk at the grocery store. Winning the SB or even building a real contender is like priority 10 when he comes to the office. He just wants to be relevant. Once fans realize this and stop supporting this nonsense is the only way this ends. We need the fanbase to stop showing up at games. It won't hurt his pocket at all, but it will cause embarrassment.

There is almost nothing the fans can do that will make Jerry lose money, maybe not show up for a whole season, but the game theory behind that will never work. He has a flywheel effect for the Cowboys. Fans are desperate for a winner, they keep thinking we are one player, one good draft, one referee missed call away.

Jerry learned from Campo, that he cannot go 5-11, 4-12 type seasons. He always wants to be in the 7-10 win category, which is why he never fired JG. Because 8-8 is good enough to excite ESPN, FS1, play for a playoff spot on Sunday Night.

When will you people wake up? It's not changing until Jerry capitulates and hires a real coach who will come in a change the culture. If that happens within 2-3 years we are in a championship game. The talent is good enough in this organization.

Just imagine if we had McVay or Kyle Shanahan, do we beat the 49ers? It's a simple question that Jerry should be asking. To me it's as plain as the nose on my face.
Don't fool yourself as you are the easiest to fool.

Remember Parcells came in here and took us to the playoffs his first year?
Coaching, discipline, and culture matter !!!

Buried in this are a few good points. This is Jerry's team and he will run it his way. But to say Jerry doesn't want to win I think is not correct. Being the consummate marketer, of course Jerry wants to win a Super Bowl. First I am sure even Jerry has enough pride to realize losing every year makes him look bad. He has a big ego, and big egos do not like to look bad. Second, imagine how much fun Jerry could have holding the Lombardi trophy again. He could squeeze so much money and publicity out of that it would make his current exploits look like kids play. Jerry wants to win a Super Bowl, but he has a problem and it is also named Jerry. I have used this analogy before, and it still fits. Jerry bought a shiny new racing car and he wants to win the race. But he wants to win it with himself behind the wheel.

The problem is, Jerry's way of doing things have not produced a winner in 26 years. At this point I think there is enough evidence to conclude Jerry's way of doing things does not work. Jerry drafts his players, then in the cases where they produce a little he overpays them to retain them. He has to because he will not sign free agents from other teams because he thinks they are overpaid. Never understood his logic. He will overpay Demarcus Lawrence, but not a better player who is a free agent? Free Agency can be a very useful tool in a GMs tool box, but Jerry has removed it permanently. Its like fighting with 1 arm tied behind your back.

Jerry is also the owner and he refuses to hold himself accountable for the failures of the team. We all know this, but if the Cowboys actually had a real GM who lost for 26 years he would have been fired a long time ago.

This year we saw some things we have not seen in the past. For one, they let Jaylon Smith go. I never thought I was see that again since Jimmy Johnson left. They also benched Connor Williams after he committed more holding penalties. Unfortunately the alternative was so bad they had to put Williams back in the starting lineup. But at least they took action where action was needed. Maybe these are good signs.

On the other hand they continued to allow Zurlein to miss FGs and EPs so who knows. Maybe Jerry allowed McCarthy his two disciplinary moves and then cut him off.
Lol.. I like how you gave me a back handed compliment. I think where your thesis fails is the Jerry wants to win a SB part. I think Jerry has already made so much money that there probably isn't any more juice left to squeeze. The only thing that can happen from the Cowboys winning a SB is someone else will get the credit. Whether it's a head coach, or a super star player. Basically going from being competitive to a SB champ is not worth it to him. Just look at the reality of the situation, the main focus of the Skip and Shannon show is the Cowboys during the football season, the ratings go off the charts when the Cowboys play. He already has a worldclass stadium, facility, art museum, parking and concession money, SB at the stadium, boxing matches, you name it. Winning a SB like I have stated before is, just so low on the priority list of things to achieve.

BP, I agree with your premise about a good coach coming here if the price was right. But the real obstacle for that happening is the fear Jerry carries at all times. He fears that a strong HC would build a strong, accountable culture that creates wins and then all his gloriously craved credit would go to that coach.

It’s crazy to think that this multi-billionaire with the power to hire the very best coach around has this deep psychological insecurity that won’t allow anyone to threaten his perceived power. It’s pathetic.

Another excellent post

You hit it on the head again. If they had switched over the Pollard when us fans saw it mid season maybe we have a more diversified offense.
It's the culture, it always is... There is a reason why the saying of Culture eats strategy for breakfast came about.... This is a tried and true saying that works the vast majority of the time.
Yeah every once in a while you will draft a Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Mahomes, Manning type who as a player will flip the culture of your organization where an owner like Jerry would have to capitulate.. But frankly not even Micah is that good yet.

This. I previously posted a very similar yet longer winded version of this.

Compromising winning over him not receiving full credit for success is at the root of all of this.

Yes Men coaches are part of Jerry being able to receive the credit he believes he deserves as a self perceived football guy.

Jerry didn't make the OL not play well get over it if you don't like it, dont follow them anymore. he actually fielded a team that should have shot at the SB after that its not on him.

BTW Shanahan has sub 500 RS record with the 9ers i imagine how well that goes over here..

its simple we lost this game and that the only one that matters not what happed a decade to 2 decades ago, not at all..that narrative is for bandwagon fans who only support the team when they win. there's no hostage like atmosphere for real fans of all sports teams we simply treat each year as new year..cheer and how for th best and reset each year,

its a choice. no ones being brainwashed its spots, you make a conscious choice to be fan and hardcore fans are lifelong fans no matter how their team is playing. you have choice to not come here and complain and call out fans and the ownership and all things cowboys but you do,. Sorry im not coming over to your toxic side. if it's that hard to be Cowboy fan GO AWAY. go be 9er fans or pick the flavor of the month team that easier to cheer for.

we lost by 6 points to 9ers because of our mistakes, imagine half those penalties we win by 10 easily. We were the better team and i still feel like that but made far too many mistakes.

too bad dak can't block and tackle himself or make those grown azz OL not hold and get 14 penalties in playoff game. I mean its all him.. right get the pluck over it haters. it was easy to see the Offensive line torpedo this game and add the DL getting 3 offsides penalties i mean hard to win against equal talent when you make the big mistakes all game. hard to play 1st and 20 every series when the other teams playing 1st and 10..thats a reality, when they dont hold they aren't blocking well and daks running for his life.
They lose all of the big games, but you sound like you are fine with that. Jerry just loves your type. By the way, there is a long list of things included with the QB’s job description. Dak is a $40 million a year QB and he can’t do half of the things that comes with that job.

"If the money is right" would mean Jerry wants him.....Jerry does not want someone who will overshadow or make him look weak....so the money is never going to be right or even an offer made. Only an inexperienced coach or a HC who is desperate to get back into the NFL would take the devil's offer.

Bill and MM would say otherwise. But keep on with the narrative.

The Cowboys are the Disney of the NFL, they are recession proof. Not even a crippling economy can slow them down. Let alone a mediocre product.

Kudos to Jerry.

The sad thruth I think I have accept is that at 57 I've seen all the Super Bowl championships I'm ever going to see. Some of the younger fans on this forum might see some.

Manalive, you really need to go ready a book on corporate/business structures. The GM is responsible for all of it, including how guys block.

Funny thing is.....Jerry has convinced people we have enough talent. Lol.

We need a complete overhaul....

This was the peak....it's not going to get better from here without a major shakeup.

First thing out of his mouth postgame: can’t believe we are sitting here with the talent we have.

translation: Stephen and I did our part.

I’d agree Jerry has the talent to win the terrible division he is in. Go outside that division and that talent is .500.

I liked your post out of respect but I disagree with your statement. There is a saying by Mark Twain.
“It's Easier to Fool People Than It Is to Convince Them That They Have Been Fooled.” You sir have fallen hook line and sinker for Jerry's drivel. I am a die hard and always will be. This team was totally unprepared, undisciplined, and fell flat on its face. The Niners did everything that all the talking heads said they would do.
Since when has telling the truth become toxic? What over the past 26 years of puppet coaches, sideshow antics have convinced you that I am wrong?
Shanahan took over in 2017, in 2019 they were playing in the Super Bowl. Jimmy G got hurt in 2018, missed practically the whole season, they had a bunch of injuries last year also This year they had a bunch of injuries, their number 1 RB gets lost for the season. That team is resilient. They are everything that this Cowboy team is not.
Hear hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you play stupid games you get stupid prizes!!!
You would think culture matters but man this Cowboys organization just makes me sick to my stomach. The tolerance for nonsense, we are a caricature of a good football organization.
I think Jerry still suffers from imposter syndrome at some level.

Jerry cares about one thing now. His legacy and he knows he is the only common denominator linking 26 years of futility. He just doesn't see himself as the problem.

The real psychosis is that Jerry has convinced himself that he was an integral part of building those super bowl teams and he is hellbent on proving it to a world that gives Jimmy Johnson most all of the credit. This is why Jerry refuses to shine any light on Jimmy Johnson unless prodded. Its a sore spot b/c the facts and reality don't align with what he believes in his delusional mind.

I felt the exact same way. I was blown away and super excited. Then it quickly went back to what is has always been. For me Collins getting his job back was a pretty big red flag. A clear sign that reliability and accountability were no longer a priority.
