Video: Try Out - Isaac Alarcón

What is the goal of the Player Pathway program? Are they expecting the player to eventually make the team? And if so, how many years are they allowed to not count as a roster spot?

He really does move well for his size. He’s in bad need of an NFL strength and conditioning program for a year or so, but he does seem to have the inherent athleticism.

If he has a little bit of a junkyard dog attitude, he just might turn into something.

He's, evidently, very athletic for a big OT. Even if he just makes the practice squad, it should be a good development experience for him. Is he exempt from being pilfered, though? I'm thinking that may be the case with him because of being a former foreign player.

That would seem to be the goal. Broaden the talent pool and increase international interest.

The MLB and NBA have pulled some amazing players from outside the USA. I would imagine the NFL would like to be able to do the same.

First off, he’s massive - as in bigger than Tyron Smith. I think he’s 6’7 or 6’8. He has the body and the frame, but he’s never played against this level of competition.

If you go on the Spanish language Cowboys’ boards, they love this kid. Jerry knows how to play to his audience. He’s already a huge fan favorite south of the border. If you’ve been to a Cowboys’ game lately, you’ve seen the mariachi band that wanders around and the heavy Mexican population. That’s Jerry’s marketing genius; Cowboys were one of the first teams to market in LatAm and launch a Spanish language broadcast.

But most important, there’s a roster exemption for him, so he’ll stick this year no matter what.

Dude is perfect to start out at LG, his strength and size will make him effective in the running game and pass protection.

Quiero ver mas. No vas a ganar bailando con las estrellas.

Well, this is where I miss preseason. We probably could have seen more on this guy if we had the opportunity to see preseason games.

He runs high, doesn't show sink real well. He does have decent feet, i agree.

If he's 6'7"-6'8" like some have said, that's pretty tall for an OG. The taller the OG, the easier it is for a DT to get under the shoulder pads and drive him into the pocket. Also harder for him to get low on a DT on a short yardage play. Plus that's a tall guy for a QB to see and throw over in the middle.

Yeah, really hard for a guy that tall to maintain leverage. You have to get really low to root out those NFL DT’s.
