He's not a football player. At least not a full-time one. It sucks we ended up with this gump of a loser when we also liked guys like Kendrick, Wagner, and Bowman over the last few years. Somehow from all of those guys we end up with a half gimp who can't stay on the field and a passionless, effortless enigma. I guess that's our luck...*sigh*. He's got to go.

I don't think he has much value after this season. You could trade him to another team who also has a player who had really down year and see if change of scenery benefits both players.

If we don't want him, who would? Would you trade for him? I don't think there's a GM that would.

The only team that you might get lucky and move him for a 5th rounder is the Saints.

He is awful though. I can't believe how much he regressed.

Contrary to popular beliefs, other teams cannot trade players for coupons.

Why does every player who's not playing well get expected to grab a good pick in a trade? If he's worthless your not gonna get anything for him. Why is this so hard to comprehend every year?

Bruce Carter's gonna be a really good player in this league. No doubt he struggled some with the transition. But I honestly blame Kiffin more than any player. Who besides Hatcher and Sean Lee has looked good in this scheme?? It has exposed everyone. Carter looked phenomenal, both versus the pass and run, @ MLB last year. He's got loads of talent. This scheme does NOT put players in a position to succeed. It's one of the worst defenses in the NFL, and that's not because it doesn't have any talent on it. Kiffin is stiffer and less adaptable to change than any D-coordinator I've ever seen. It was apparent after GAME 1 that we needed to scrap the zone and play man-coverage. Yet week after week, comment after comment from Jerry about playing more man, and Kiffin kept with the same soft-zone that got eaten up underneath and down the seams ALL. SEASON. LONG.Bruce Carter struggled, mostly in coverage, playing outside. No doubt. But there is no question that Kiffin's scheme has not made the transition easy. Get someone in here who knows how to compensate, and I think you'll see Carter's talent shine again. He didn't have good leadership this season...

Anyone worth their salt in personnel who watched film of Bruce Carter this year wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Certainly not by trading for him.

Have you been watching him? I addressed this here:

0 effort by Carter and it has nothing to due with scheme change.

Al Davis is dead. I don't think there is anyone else alive beside JJ who will make a trade like this.

I would have to disagree. This defense doesn't put Carter in a position to fail, Carter makes it a bad defense by not hustling or taking good angles. Watch some of his tape on NFL rewind, he's a vey lazy player, I don't know what happened to this guy.

You want to trade a young player under team control on a draft friendly contract who has shown flashes of playing well for a...what? Lower round pick with about a less than 5% chance sucess of being in the NFL? Glad you're not our GM.

a 3-4 team needing another ILB would look at making that trade. Carter played very well last year in the 3-4. I just don't think he fit this scheme.

I would package him with Claiborne. He would also fit better in a 3-4 man scheme. A 3-4 team would trade a early pick for two young players that played well in man cover 3-4. Saints, Colt, Browns, Chargers are all 3-4 teams that have a need a CB and ILB.

Maybe a change of defensive coordinators will change the scenery. More realistic and possible improvement.

agree with most.........As we watch Holloman progress, I see Carter where Wilbur is now and Holloman in the cover Lb slot........if they stay in a 43 defense. Holloman a college safety brings what should be natural instincts to the spot.
