so good this season.

Clearly, they are well coached on that side of the ball.

However, I think I underestimated the inside of their DL (their 2 DTs) and their DL in general. They hold up very well versus the run and allow their LBs to flow to the ball.

On top of that, they have just been very opportunistic in getting and forcing turnovers (like the Seattle game).

Williams excells in getting the most out of what he has- which really is not all that much.

that's true, I'm scared to think what Williams would've been able to do with our defensive roster.
I tell you though, the key to Washington's success has been their ability to stuff the run with 3-4 guys. That has allowed them to drop more people into coverage. Otherwise, no way their backup DBs, due to injuries, could cover anyone. It's amazing how they sometimes only put 3 dudes on the DL and still stuff the run. That is amazing to me. Half the time, we were putting 8 there and guys were still running around the corners.
If Washington didn't have the foundation of being able to stuff the run with so few DL like they do, their entire house of cards would've came crashing down.
If we could stuff the run with just Spears, Fergi, and Canty on the DL, our DBs would have a ton of INTs.
I also wish we have a little bit of Wash's scrappiness. (oh yeah and gameplanning)

They just dont miss tackles. Everyone on the team can make a clean tackle. We also have a lot of smart veterens on the team...that know if they cant get pressure just get your hands up.

They do two things really well. Time their blitz packages almost perfectly and knock balls down at the line. Other than that, they are not that good in coverage or against a run.

It's all about coaching and the LBs. They have the best LBs in the NFC, imo, and I sure wish someone had taught our guys to find the pass lane and block passes back when we were struggling to get to the QB...they know they don't generate much rush up front so they really work on that...I've never seen a team bat down so many balls the past two weeks.

I hate those freakin' pricks, but give the devil his due...they made it to the final 4 teams in the NFC while we sat home, and they played well enough on defense to win that dang game. We've got our work cut out for us.
