Turpin, Don't Abandon Him Yet

I don’t think his football IQ is very high but he is put into positions to fail far too often.
Why do you think his football IQ isn't good? I don't see that....he does try to protect himself, trying not to get killed. 6 inches shorter and 50 pounds lighter than a average CB, will have that effect. Other than that, he sets up blocks, takes good angles....he did have a penalty, but so did half the team...what am I missing?

I know Turpin is having an awful time as of late, with drops, fumbles, and even a bonehead fair catch penalty. So it's tempted to just sit him down and not use him in the offense.

BUT, I 100% believe that Turpin is going to be needed down the stretch. They'll need him to make a big play in a close game, on special teams, or within the offense. And he can.

Opposing defenses will soon game plan how to shut down CD and Pickens (and on some 3rd downs, they'll both be doubled). So then the best matchup is going to be the slot and Ferg. I believe Turpin can beat most slot CBs (and certainly a safety) on a slant or a 10-yard out. And I still want to see Turp used in a WR screen, it just needs to better blocked (especially from the other receivers).

So don't abandon Turpin yet, he's going to be needed as this team pushes forward...and he still is a big play waiting to happen. His time is coming.
we haven't run a jet sweep with him as of late...probably KC game.

and he fumbled. its bad. but he made it up with a big play. CD had drops...he shrunk and had more drops and sure TD catch

That fumble with nobody around right after Lamb fumbled but ruled down really killed me inside. 2 back to back. Today I it’s funny because we recovered and won. But yesterday not so much.!

Using a 130 pound receiver in traffic and as a RB is stupid.

They finally got him in space on another crossing route and he broke it for a long gain.

I am not a not a Turpin fan. He has made mire negative plays than positive since he’s been here. I pray he doesn’t fumble every time he’s back to field a punt or kickoff. Even his great kick return TD against Washington a couple if years ago was after he muffed it. He is a fumble waiting to happen.

There isn't another returner I'd want and he adds a speed dynamic nobody else on offense can replace. I'm not looking to lose that.

He should be returning kicks and have 1 or 2 targets outside special teams. Anything more than that, and especially running him between the tackles is just dumb.

Turpin is one of those players that can change the season's trajectory with a couple of plays. He's explosive. He's worth keeping around.

Stop it. They've been doubling, you can't double both cause then there's Ferguson, and Jovante would eat them up.
If I'm a DC, on a key 3rd down, I'd take my chances of getting beat by Fergie or Williams coming out of the backfield in the flats (which is the only place they use him on passing downs). Fergie is not a downfield threat, except on a seam route. So, I'm doing my best to lock down Pick and CD, and make someone else beat me. Turpin is the last person they are worried about given his recent struggles, but he's a Big Play waiting to happen if you get him in space.

Rip the page from the playbook that has Turpin at RB. Bad things happen. Besides that, it's dumb. He's a liability. Use him like tyreek hill. Or Worthy. We saw him almost make a house call yesterday on a pass. That's his game....using his speed in space. No way does he need to be exposed like that at RB. He will get hurt. I don't blame him for that. However, he had a bad game yesterday. Not his most shining moments.

It is not about yesterday but his gameplay in general over the years. He has made a lot of questionable decisions like whether or not to field a punt, bring it out of the endzone, stay in bounds or go out, etc, etc.

I would abandon all WR's at RB!!! Especially when we are running the ball just fine.

Just keep him one special teams. He is an accident waiting to happen on offense. How he drops easy passes is beyond me.

He had quite literally probably the worst fumble I've except seen from a cowboy (except maybe when Quincy Carter used to go to throw the ball and his hand would come up empty)
I don't understand this type of english
