This has to be the most exciting Cowboys preseason game I can recall in years . It was our first road preseason win since 2012 in Oakland . But last night was all about Kavonte Turpin.

This could be the Cowboys most exciting free agency acquisition this era. I can’t even think of another one I’d compare. It’s amazing more teams weren’t seeking out the MVP of this past season in the USFL.

Turpin got the Cowboys their first lead of the game with a 98-yard kick return for a touchdown in the first quarter, then just to show it was no fluke, he added an 86-yard punt return score with just 52 seconds left in the first half.

And he came out in second half without any pads on. His roster spot secure and we might not see him again until Sept 11. Turpin certainly makes the expectations of this upcoming season more exciting and interesting. What a refreshing spark . Wow!!!

He needs playing time as a WR and needs to be utilized as a deep threat and slot player.

Plays similar style to Tyreek Hill with ability to create massive separation with speed and quickness.

He has already played one season this year. He is dynamic at what he does. I understand your position but, let it go!

He can change games with 4 to 6 touches a game. Don't use special as a pack mule.

Kid is fast and seems to have great vision. Will make our special teams on another level.

On offense he will be good on that Jet Sweep the cowboys love doing 2 or 3 times a game.

The more noteworthy thing about these 2 returns, especially the punt return, was there were no flags. That’s a statement on the officiating crew as much as the Cowboys’ play/discipline. It’s highly likely those are negated by a penalty with a flag happy crew. They had 2 opportunities to throw one on the punt return.

He was a full time WR in winning the MVP in the USFL. If you look at his highlight reel, guy can play football, not just return kicks. If we dont find a way to get this kid the ball coming out of the slot coaches heads should be coming off at seasons end. I used to go to camp every year and one of my observations was that nobody on the roster could keep Beasley from getting open. He was so quick on his change of direction that nobody could stick with him. IM guessing this kid is the same. He can do serious damage in the open field and we could damn sure use his explosiveness to open the season.

Lets hope this is a glimpse of things to come.

Key thing you mentioned....Free Agent aquisition!

Goes to show....again...you don't need yo break the bank to add quality players to your team.

uhm..... the only reason this guy didnt cost bucks is he was coming out of the USFL. Had he had the season in the NFL that he had in the USFL, yes, he would have broke the bank. This is a very unique situation.

Turpin is amazing. Catching a shoat would be easier than trying to wrap him up. He doesn't need to play anymore this preseason. He's locked up his spot. I'm anxious to see what he can do on offense.

We got a glimpse on that jet sweep. It truly is a “jet” sweep with him. He turned a 2nd and 10+ into a 2nd and 3.

Right. Give the cowboys credit for getting him.

Here i was all offseason wondering who was going to return kicks for us...they had it figured out.

One of the better offseason signings in football this year. And it was a WR, just what the cry babies were wanting.

That PR was incredible. He had a guy about 2-3 yards in front of him, and he still took it and scored. Not trying to get too far ahead, but, when's the last time we had a return ace?
