When was the last time we had one and actually used them?
My guess might be Deion Sanders.

As always he gets credit and blame pending the result.Does Jerra get any credit for making it happen? Or is he still a bumbling idiot?
DeionThat PR was incredible. He had a guy about 2-3 yards in front of him, and he still took it and scored. Not trying to get too far ahead, but, when's the last time we had a return ace?
Gotta tip my hat to the Cowboys front Office for this move !!!This has to be the most exciting Cowboys preseason game I can recall in years . It was our first road preseason win since 2012 in Oakland . But last night was all about Kavonte Turpin.
This could be the Cowboys most exciting free agency acquisition this era. I can’t even think of another one I’d compare. It’s amazing more teams weren’t seeking out the MVP of this past season in the USFL.
Turpin got the Cowboys their first lead of the game with a 98-yard kick return for a touchdown in the first quarter, then just to show it was no fluke, he added an 86-yard punt return score with just 52 seconds left in the first half.
And he came out in second half without any pads on. His roster spot secure and we might not see him again until Sept 11. Turpin certainly makes the expectations of this upcoming season more exciting and interesting. What a refreshing spark . Wow!!!
Yep . And also worth noting is being he played at TCU before being kicked off the team after pleading guilty to domestic violence case , we actually might have been more familiar with him than most.uhm..... the only reason this guy didnt cost bucks is he was coming out of the USFL. Had he had the season in the NFL that he had in the USFL, yes, he would have broke the bank. This is a very unique situation.
its not just his speed that's impressive...but he is slippery and he has good vision and sets things up....like a RB who has good vision and sees the holes before they are there and sets it up, he almost does the same thing, sees the hole, knows how to get around the corner and his speed is obviously helps him execute. he has confidence in his ability.... good pick up by the Jones boysThis has to be the most exciting Cowboys preseason game I can recall in years . Yep. He’s a rare talent. Speed kills !!He was a full time WR in winning the MVP in the USFL. If you look at his highlight reel, guy can play football, not just return kicks. If we dont find a way to get this kid the ball coming out of the slot coaches heads should be coming off at seasons end. I used to go to camp every year and one of my observations was that nobody on the roster could keep Beasley from getting open. He was so quick on his change of direction that nobody could stick with him. IM guessing this kid is the same. He can do serious damage in the open field and we could damn sure use his explosiveness to open the season.
Lets hope this is a glimpse of things to come.
He could definitely be used in the slot. His size is a concern for Dak seeing him . It will be critical drawing up the right plays to optimize his skill set.He needs playing time as a WR and needs to be utilized as a deep threat and slot player.
Plays similar style to Tyreek Hill with ability to create massive separation with speed and quickness.
No doubt but speed is what ultimately separates him. The way he just runs past people is so impressive. Reminds me of only two other returners in Cowboy history, Prime Time and Bullet Bob. Pure game changers.its not just his speed that's impressive...but he is slippery and he has good vision and sets things up....like a RB who has good vision and sees the holes before they are there and sets it up, he almost does the same thing, sees the hole, knows how to get around the corner and his speed is obviously helps him execute. he has confidence in his ability.... good pick up by the Jones boys
Don’t forget about Bullet Bob.Is he already the best returner the cowboys have ever had not named Deion? Lol
If he gets you isolated in the open field it's a wrap. He's going to break so many ankles this year it's going to be fun to watch.Has rare stop, cut, accelerate, extra gear ability. Perfect as a returner plus keeps someone like Cee Dee out of harms way.

Id probably try quick dump offs, screens, end arounds and fly patterns.
Turpin reminds me more of Darren Sproyles. He is the same height as Beasley 5’-9” but a whole lot faster & quicker. It’s a crime not to use him fully.
Dak & Beasley had a solid connection!
That’s a good pointHe has already played one season this year. He is dynamic at what he does. I understand your position but, let it go!
He can change games with 4 to 6 touches a game. Don't use special as a pack mule.

Perhaps we get a 4th this yr.Jerra gets credit for 3 playoff wins in 25 years
